𝐁𝐚𝐠𝐮𝐢𝐨 𝐏𝐞𝐭 𝐎𝐰𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐀𝐯𝐚𝐢𝐥 𝐅𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐕𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐭 𝐂𝐕𝐀𝐎

September 14, 2026 - Baguio residents lined up early at the Baguio City Veterinary and Agriculture Office (CVAO) to avail themselves of free pet welfare and wellness services offered as part of the city’s continuing efforts to promote responsible pet ownership and animal health.

Led by the CVAO-Urban Animal Management Services Division, the activity provided various veterinary services, including free rabies vaccination, deworming, veterinary consultation, and spay and castration (free for cats while for dogs with minimal fees as per City Ordinance No. 19 s. 2021).

The event resulted in 320 dogs and cats vaccinated against rabies, 435 received deworming and vitamin supplementation, and 50 (49 cats and 1 dog) were neutered. Participating pet owners also received other freebies for their pets.

Pet Medico Vet Clinic, Plaridel Products and Services Inc., and WILLOW were the partners and sponsors of CVAO in the said event. // C Cimatu

IN PHOTOS || CVAO Collects Blood Samples from 16 Horses for EIA Testing

September 10, 2026 - The Baguio City Veterinary and Agriculture Office (CVAO)-Urban Animal Management Services Division, represented by Dr. Wilson Malingan, Veterinarian IV and Dr. Hynden Luma-ang, Veterinarian I, conducted blood collection from 16 horses at Wright Park, Pacdal, Baguio City for testing against Equine Infectious Anemia (EIA), as part of its continuing efforts to safeguard equine health and prevent the spread of animal diseases.

Horses in Baguio contribute to the city's tourism activities. EIA is a potentially serious infectious disease affecting horses. Regular testing helps identify infected horses and supports appropriate disease-control measures.

CVAO continues to promote responsible animal health management and protect horse welfare in Baguio City. // H Luma-ang & C Cimatu

📍REMINDERS:
➡️ Dogs and cats that are less than 3 months old, pregnant and sick will not be vaccinated.
➡️ As per City Ordinance No. 19-2021, all dogs 3 months and above must be registered in the Barangay or CVAO.
➡️ P50.00/dog registration fee will be collected from dog owners.
