"Lord, above all the noise, teach me to recognize Your voice by heart, because Yours is the only one I truly need to hear."

A Prayer Meeting was conducted by the Sacred Heart Community for the Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL) to provide spiritual nourishment, emotional support, and moral guidance. The activity included prayers, reflection sessions, singing and dancing, inspirational messages, and the sharing of faith-based teachings aimed at strengthening the participants' values and promoting inner peace.

The activity served as an avenue for PDL to express gratitude, seed guidance, and foster hope despite the challenges of incarceration. It also encouraged unity, mutual respect, and positive behavioral development among participants. Through this meaningful gathering, the PDL were reminded of the importance of faith, personal transformation, and maintaining a positive outlook as they continue their rehabilitation journey.

TODAY, The Baguio City Jail Female Dormitory (BCJFD), under the Leadership of JSINSP ERLINDA A LAS-EGAN, actively participated in the Ongoing Launch of PANSA-NOPEN TAYO CE RESOURCE BOOK AND FELLOWS PROGRAM at the Baguio Convention and Cultural Center.

PANSA-NOPEN TAYO is Baguio City's flagship Circular Economy (CE) Program that promotes sustainable resource management, waste reduction, reuse, recycling, and environmental stewardship while drawing inspiration from indigenous values and local cultural practices. The term "Pansa-Nopen Tayo" means "Let us gather, conserve, and renew," emphasizing collective action and shared responsibility in building a sustainable future.

The program seeks to transform the traditional "take-make-dispose" system into a circular economy where resources are used efficiently, waste is minimized, and materials are reused or repurposed whenever possible.

For the BJMP, participation in this program demonstrates its commitment to supporting environmental sustainability initiatives and strengthens opportunities to integrate circular economy practices into rehabilitation, livelihood, and community engagement programs for Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL).

"THE ATTRIBUTES OF A GODLY FATHER: COURAGE, KINDNESS, STRENGTH, GENTLENESS, FORTITUDE, AND TENDERNESS."

The Baguio City Jail Female Dormitory, under the leadership of JSINSP ERLINDA A LAS-EGAN, joined the celebration of Father’s Day through a meaningful and enjoyable activity dedicated to honoring fathers and recognizing their invaluable contributions to their families, communities, and society as a whole.

The celebration served as an opportunity for personnel to reflect on the vital role of fathers as providers, protectors, mentors, and sources of strength and guidance. It highlighted the importance of fatherhood and the positive influence that fathers have in shaping values, building strong families, and nurturing future generations.

As part of the activity, a short inspirational video was presented, emphasizing that fatherhood is both a blessing and a sacred responsibility. The presentation underscored the noble calling of fathers to lead with love, integrity, compassion, and faith, serving as role models for their children and families.

A simple fellowship and feast followed, allowing personnel to share stories, experiences, and reflections about their fathers and the impact of fatherhood in their lives. The activity fostered camaraderie, strengthened workplace relationships, and promoted a deeper appreciation of family values.

Through this celebration, the Baguio City Jail Female Dormitory reaffirmed its recognition of the sacrifices, dedication, and unwavering love of fathers, while encouraging everyone to honor and cherish the important role they play in building strong families and communities.

TURNING TIME INTO OPPORTUNITY.

The PDL Livelihood Program empowers Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL) by providing them with practical skills, livelihood training, and income-generating opportunities while in custody. Instead of letting time pass unproductively, PDL learn crafts, trades, and entrepreneural skills that prepare them for a more productive future upon release.

The program helps PDL develop discipline, confidence, and marketable skills that can lead to employment or self-employment. It promotes personal growth, reduces idleness, and reinforces the belief that mistakes do not define a person's future.

The community benefits from products and services created through livelihood activities while supporting rehabilitation efforts. More importantly, the program helps produce individuals who are better prepared to become responsible, productive, and law-abiding citizens upon reintegration.

In a nutshell, the PDL Livelihood Program proves that rehabilitation is more than serving time--it's about making time serve a purpose. By turning skills into opportunities, it helps PDL rebuild their lives and enables communities to gain productive members who are ready for a fresh start.

YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE A DOCTOR TO SAVE LIVES, JUST DONATE BLOOD!

The Baguio City Jail Female Dormitory, under the leadership of City Jail Warden JSINSP ERLINDA A LAS-EGAN, gave knowledge and inspiration to the Persons Deprived of Liberty thru the conduct of lecture-discussion on the National Blood Donation Week, by JO1 Nhof B Banito, Unit Nurse.

The National Blood Donation Program promotes voluntary blood donation to help ensure an adequate and safe blood supply for patients in need. As part of community engagement and restorative initiatives, eligible Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL) are encouraged to participate in blood donation activities, subject to medical screening, security protocols, and applicable regulations.

The involvement of PDL in the National Blood Donation Program serves as a meaningful avenue for social responsibility and community participation. It allows PDL to contribute positively to society by helping save lives through blood donation, as well as it:
- promotes a sense of purpose, dignity, and civic responsibility;
- encourages healthy living through regular assessments and medical screening;
- enhances self-esteem by providing an opportunity to contribute to humanitarian efforts; and
- supports rehabilitation and reintegration by fostering positive values and community engagement.

Through this initiative, PDL become active partners in promoting public health while reinforcing rehabilitation efforts and strengthening their connection with their families and the broader community.
