WORK SUSPENSION
September 3, 2026

By virtue of Executive Order No. 133 issued by the Acting City Mayor Faustino A. Olowan, due to continued heavy rains caused by the Southwest Monsoon, the John Hay Management Corporation (JHMC) is implementing a suspension of work from 12:00 Noon onwards today, September 3, 2026 (Thursday), to ensure public safety.

JBIC DELEGATES TOUR CAMP JOHN HAY TO EXPLORE FUTURE DEVELOPMENT

The Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) conducted a site tour of Camp John Hay, covering Scout Hill, the Historical Core, and the Sewage Treatment Plant (STP). Prior to the tour, delegates were briefed on ongoing developments and planned initiatives for the John Hay Special Economic Zone (JHSEZ).

Projects presented during the briefing underscored the balance between economic growth and environmental stewardship, positioning the zone as a model for inclusive development and international investment opportunities. Delegates gained firsthand insights into strategic programs designed to transform the JHSEZ into a sustainable, resilient, and investment-ready destination.

Key personalities in attendance included Atty. Rhenan Diwas, City Environment and Parks Management Officer; Engr. Salvador M. Royeca, General Manager of Baguio Water District; Takashi Kaneyuki, Director of Kubota Water and Environment Thailand; Miyuki Tomosaki, Sales Manager of Hitachi Asia Ltd., Philippine Branch; John Patrick Ledonio, Region Head of the Aqua Business Development Division, JFE Engineering; Felix Sy, Managing Partner of Sy and Partners (Nishimura and Asahi); and Abigail V. Edroso, Assistant Manager of Pacific Consultant Co., Ltd., Manila Branch.

The JHMC team was led by Manjit Singh Reandi, President and CEO, together with Jane Theresa Tabalingcos, Vice President and COO, and key office heads.

By virtue of Memorandum Circular No. 132 issued by the Office of the President, upon the recommendation of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC), and due to continued heavy rains caused by the Southwest Monsoon enhanced by the Low Pressure Area that entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility, the John Hay Management Corporation (JHMC) is implementing a suspension of work from 1:00 PM onwards today, August 28, 2026 (Friday), to ensure public safety.
