A Partnership for Healthier Smiles and Brighter Futures

BAGUIO CITY, July 29, 2026 — A renewed commitment to promoting healthier smiles and brighter futures for learners was strengthened through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) under the Adopt-a-School Program, bringing together the Philippine Dental Association–Baguio City Dental Chapter (PDA-BCDC), the Schools Division Office–Baguio City, and the beneficiary schools: Holy Ghost Extension Elementary School, Irisan Elementary School, Quirino Hill Elementary School, and SPED Center.

Anchored on the belief that oral health is an essential part of a learner’s overall well-being, confidence, and readiness to learn, the partnership aims to bring preventive oral health services, education, and support closer to school communities.

This milestone reflects the continuing efforts of the PDA–Baguio City Chapter to build sustainable partnerships with schools and strengthen school-based oral health programs.

The ceremonial activity was graced by Schools Division Superintendent Soraya T. Faculo, PhD, CESO V, and Nino M. Tibangay, PhD, Chief of the School Governance and Operations Division, whose presence reaffirmed the Division’s strong support for health-centered and community-based initiatives.

Leading the Philippine Dental Association–Baguio City Chapter is Dr. Sheila E. Vicente, President, who underscored the organization’s commitment to bringing dental care and oral health education beyond the clinic and into schools and communities.

The program is spearheaded by Dr. Maria Michelle A. Tauli, PDA-BCDC Chairperson for Adopt-a-School Program, in collaboration with the SDO’s Social Mobilization and Networking Section, whose dedication continues to sustain and expand school-based oral health initiatives for learners.

With the continued support of the Schools Division Office–Baguio City and the Philippine Dental Association–Baguio City Chapter, this partnership highlights the power of collaboration in creating sustainable, learner-centered programs.

Together, we do not simply care for teeth — we build healthier learners, stronger communities, and brighter futures, one smile at a time.
