Following the recent typhoon and heavy rainfall that affected the community, Happy Hollow Elementary School conducted a Mental Health Check-In among learners to assess their emotional and psychosocial well-being upon returning to school.
The initiative provided learners with a safe space to express how they were feeling, identify challenges they may be experiencing, and determine those who may require additional support and intervention.
As part of the school's commitment to promoting a supportive and nurturing learning environment, teachers facilitated mental health and psychosocial support activities on the learners' first day back in school.
These activities were designed to help learners process their experiences, cope with disruptions caused by the weather, and strengthen their resilience during challenging times. The monitoring covered 178 learners from Kindergarten to Grade 6, with school personnel also participating in the assessment.
The results serve as a valuable guide for planning appropriate interventions and ensuring the continued safety, well-being, and academic success of every member of the Happy Hollow Elementary School community.
