𝗟𝗜𝗡𝗚𝗞𝗢𝗗 𝗞𝗔𝗕𝗔𝗧𝗔𝗔𝗡 𝗔𝗪𝗔𝗥𝗗

The City Government of Baguio, led by Mayor Benjamin Magalong, is conferred the Lingkod Kabataan Award for Distinguished Service to the Filipino Youth through Scouting for its invaluable service and significant contributions to the successful conduct of the annual Scout Officials for a Day (SOFAD) program of the Baguio City Council–Boy Scouts of the Philippines (BSP).

The award recognizes the city's support in providing opportunities for youth to develop their leadership skills and inculcate values that promote love of country and fellow citizens. The award is conferred on May 22, 2026, during the highlights of the 69th Annual National Council Meeting in Cebu City.

Today, August 1, 2026, the Boy Scouts of the Philippines – Baguio City Council demonstrated the true spirit of Scouting through a meaningful Community Service Clean-Up Drive across the heart of Baguio City.

Starting from Governor Pack Road, the Scouts made their way through UP Drive, Harrison Road, Burnham Park, Session Road, and the Baguio City Public Market, working together to help keep our city's streets and public spaces clean, safe, and welcoming for everyone.

More than simply picking up litter, this activity reflects the Scouts' commitment to the Scout Oath and Law, serving others, protecting the environment, and leading by example. Through teamwork, discipline, and volunteerism, these young Scouts continue to inspire the community that every small act of service contributes to a cleaner, greener, and more responsible Baguio.

The Boy Scouts of the Philippines – Baguio City Council extends its heartfelt gratitude to all Scouts, Scouters, volunteers, and partners who dedicated their time and effort to this worthwhile endeavor. Together, we continue to build a culture of environmental stewardship and civic responsibility.

𝗔 𝗦𝗰𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗱. 𝗔 𝗦𝗰𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗦𝗮𝘃𝗲𝘀 𝗟𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀.

A 16-year-old Scout proved exactly what that means after his quick thinking and lifesaving skills saved the life of a drowning man in Kabacan, Cotabato.

On July 12, what began as an ordinary afternoon at a resort quickly turned into a life-or-death emergency when a man was found unconscious in a swimming pool. He was not breathing and had no pulse.

Among those at the scene was Scout Rexel Joaquin Codilla Mangliwan, Corps Commander of the University Laboratory School – Boy Scouts of the Philippines (ULS-BSP). Without hesitation, he assessed the victim's condition and immediately performed Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), applying the lifesaving skills he had learned through the BSP Emergency Service Training Course (ESTC).

While emergency responders were on their way, Scout Rexel continued administering CPR. After several minutes, the victim regained consciousness before being transported to the hospital for further medical treatment, where he later recovered.

When asked what was going through his mind, Scout Rexel shared that he simply stayed calm because he knew every second counted. Instead of panicking, he relied on his training and focused on saving a life.

His actions are a powerful reminder that Scouting is more than outdoor adventures; it equips young people with the knowledge and confidence to respond when lives are on the line.

The Boy Scouts of the Philippines congratulates Scout Rexel Joaquin Codilla Mangliwan for demonstrating the Scout Oath and Scout Law through his bravery and readiness.

July 04, 2026, the Boy Scouts of the Philippines (BSP) Baguio City Council successfully conducted its Tree Planting Activity at the Busol Watershed, Aurora Hill!

In line with BSP's flagship program for every Scout to plant and nurture at least five (5) trees every year, our dedicated contingent of Senior Scouts, Rover Scouts, and Scout Leaders geared up, brought out their shovels, and got their hands dirty for Mother Earth.

A huge thank you to all the scouting units, leaders, and scouts who woke up early, offered their time and brought their absolute best energy to this environmental endeavor. Let’s continue to nurture these trees and keep Baguio clean, green, and sustainable! 🌲💚

REMEMBERING LORD BADEN-POWELL | 85th DEATH ANNIVERSARY

Today, the Boy Scouts of the Philippines – Baguio City Council joins the worldwide Scouting movement in remembering Lord Robert Stephenson Smyth Baden-Powell, the founder of Scouting. Eighty-five years after his passing, his ideals of service, character, and leadership continue to guide generations of Scouts.

From his vision grew a movement that empowers young people to serve others, strengthen communities, and live by the Scout Oath and Law. As Scouts of Baguio City, we honor his legacy by remaining committed to our duty—to God, country, and fellowmen—through meaningful service and responsible citizenship.
