The Schools Division Office (SDO) of Baguio Engineering Team conducted its second onsite facility inspection at Fort Del Pilar National High School (FDPNHS) on August 25 to assess school facilities identified for repair and renovation, with primary focus on the DepEd building behind the faculty room, where the computer room and Grade 10 Amethyst classroom are located. These rooms have been identified as priorities for renovation.

The inspection followed the teamโ€™s initial visit on July 2 and aimed to further assess the condition of the identified facilities and determine the necessary repairs and improvements.

The inspection team was led by Engineer III Jordan Gas-ib, Engineer I Chayla Macario, and Assistant Engineer Alexander Tumapang. The team conducted measurements of the structures and documented areas requiring repair and renovation for further assessment.

The proposed repair and renovation works remain subject to the availability of funds, with implementation expected to begin next year.

The second facility inspection forms part of SDO Baguioโ€™s continuing efforts to monitor school infrastructure, assess facility conditions, and identify necessary interventions to improve school facilities.

FDPNHS expressed its appreciation to the SDO Baguio Engineering Team for conducting the inspection and providing technical assistance in assessing the schoolโ€™s infrastructure needs. The school also thanked PSDS Brendalee Awingan for accompanying and assisting the engineering team during the inspection.

The school administration expressed hope that the identified infrastructure needs, particularly those involving the DepEd building, computer room, and Grade 10 Amethyst classroom, will be addressed once funding becomes available.

Fort Del Pilar National High School (FDPNHS) received 29 lapel mics from the Central Office, providing additional resources that teachers and learners can utilize during various school and classroom activities.

The lapel mics can be used during speaking activities, role plays, debates, oral presentations, and other performance-based tasks that require clear and audible communication. They may also be useful during school programs, assemblies, meetings, and other activities where speakers need to address a larger audience.

With the addition of these lapel microphones, learners can participate more confidently in activities that develop their speaking and presentation skills. Teachers can likewise utilize the equipment to make classroom discussions and school activities more organized and effective.

FDPNHS extends its heartfelt gratitude to the Central Office for providing the lapels. This meaningful contribution will serve as a valuable resource for both teachers and learners, supporting various educational activities and creating more engaging and meaningful learning experiences within the school community.

What began as a simple classroom concern turned into a meaningful act of community support as the Grade 10 Diamond parents took the initiative to have their classroom ceiling repaired. Even during the weekend, the parents generously gave their time, effort, and resources to help address the problem.

With the damaged ceiling now repaired, learners can enter their classroom with greater ease, without having to worry about water dripping from above, especially during the rainy season. The repair has provided them with a safer, more comfortable, and more conducive space for learning.

Leading the initiative was Sir Marcelino Tupagen, Grade 10 Diamond Homeroom PTA President, together with the parents who extended their time, effort, and resources for the improvement of their childrenโ€™s classroom. The repair involved the installation of galvanized iron (GI) sheets and plywood sourced through the schoolโ€™s Maintenance and Other Operating Expenses (MOOE).

Their cooperation showed how the partnership between parents and the school can turn a classroom concern into meaningful action.

The initiative also received the support and appreciation of Sir Ferdinand Sangao, Grade 10 Diamond Adviser, who expressed his gratitude to the parents for extending their helping hands for the welfare of the learners. Their contribution goes beyond the physical repair of the ceiling, as it reflects their commitment to creating a better learning environment for every learner.

For the Grade 10 Diamond learners, the repaired ceiling represents more than a fixed part of their classroom. It serves as a reminder that their parents and school community are willing to work together to address their needs and ensure that they have a space where they can learn with greater comfort and security.

The effort of the Grade 10 Diamond parents also reflects the spirit of bayanihan that continues to thrive within Fort Del Pilar National High School. When members of the school community come together, even a seemingly small improvement can create a meaningful difference in the daily lives of learners.

FDPNHS extends its warmest gratitude to the Grade 10 Diamond parents, Sir Marcelino Tupagen, and Sir Ferdinand Sangao for their initiative, cooperation, and dedication. Their efforts demonstrate that improving education is not only about the lessons taught inside the classroom but also about creating an environment where learners feel safe, supported, and ready to learn.

Iyaman, parents and volunteers!

The Supreme Secondary Learner Government (SSLG) of Fort Del Pilar National High School (FDPNHS) conducted a donation drive and distributed assistance to identified beneficiaries from the school community.

The voluntary donation drive was conducted across all grade levels on August 13, 2026. Under the guidance and instruction of SSLG Adviser Ma'am Judith Chommog, the SSLG President, Vice President, Treasurer, and Auditor went room-to-room and section-to-section to collect donations. Before collecting, the officers explained the purpose of the activity and how the contributions would be used to assist learners affected by the typhoon.

A total of five (5) learners, one from each grade level: Grade 7, Grade 8, Grade 9, Grade 10, and Senior High School were identified as beneficiaries of the donation drive. The beneficiaries were learners whose parents or guardians were unable to work due to the weather disturbances.

On August 14, 2026, the SSLG officers turned over the assistance to the identified learners during dismissal at the IPED Office, together with EsP teacher Ma'am Juliet Lagan and SSLG Adviser Ma'am Judith Chommog. Each beneficiary received a food pack and essential toiletries, purchased using the donations collected from fellow learners.

The SSLG ensured that the assistance was prepared fairly and equally, with each beneficiary receiving the same or equivalent set of essential items. The officers also personally handed the packages to the beneficiaries to ensure that the collected donations reached the learners they were intended to support.

One of the beneficiaries expressed gratitude for the assistance, saying, "Salamat po sa tulong na galing sa puso. Malaking tulong po ito sa amin." The beneficiaries likewise expressed their appreciation to the learners and everyone who took part in and supported the donation drive.

The initiative reflects the spirit of bayanihan, compassion, fairness, and unity within the FDPNHS community, showing how learners can come together to support their fellow students during times of need.

The SSLG sincerely thanks all learners who willingly contributed to the donation drive. Whether their contribution was big or small, every effort was deeply appreciated. For those who were unable to give due to limited resources, their prayers, support, and concern for their fellow learners were equally meaningful. Every act of kindness helped make the initiative possible and provided meaningful assistance to the affected learners.

Parents and guardians of Grade 10 Diamond convened to discuss important concerns affecting their learners, particularly the repair of the classroom ceiling and the proposed implementation of the school ID system after classes on August 14, 2026.

Homeroom President Marcelino Tupagen presented the first agenda concerning the current condition of the classroom ceiling, which has raised concerns among the homeroom adviser and learners. He presented the estimated budget and repair costs and proposed repair plans, appealing to the parents for their support in addressing the concern.

Following the discussion, the parents agreed to provide financial assistance for the needed ceiling repairs. The work is targeted for August 21 and 22, 2026, with the goal of providing learners with a safer and more comfortable classroom, especially during the rainy season and in preparation for the upcoming examinations.

The parents also discussed the proposed school ID system, including its purpose and expected benefits in promoting proper identification, security, and order within the school. After the presentation and discussion, the parents expressed their approval of the proposed ID system.

Homeroom Adviser Ferdinand Sangao thanked the parents and guardians for taking the time to attend and participate in the discussion despite their work and other responsibilities. He also encouraged them to continue working closely with the school in addressing classroom concerns and supporting activities that contribute to the learners' welfare.

The meeting underscored the importance of strong parent-school collaboration, as open communication and shared responsibility allow concerns affecting learners to be addressed more effectively. Through the active participation of parents, teachers, and learners, classroom needs can be identified, solutions can be discussed, and initiatives can be carried out for the benefit of the entire class.

The meeting further reflected how cooperation between the school and families can help create a safer, more organized, and supportive learning environment where learners can focus on their studies and participate more confidently in school activities.

The Supreme Secondary Learner Government (SSLG) in coordination with the IPED Adviser, conducted a Cordilleran Quiz Bee to celebrate Cordillera Month and strengthen learnersโ€™ knowledge and appreciation of the regionโ€™s history, culture, traditions, and heritage, today, August 14, during dismissal at the Grade 12 classroom.

The activity began with a prayer before the participants proceeded with the quiz, which covered various topics related to the Cordillera through multiple-choice, modified true-or-false, and identification questions.

The quiz was initially intended to accommodate participants from all grade levels. However, only learners from Grades 8, 9, 10, and 11 were able to participate. Grade 11 participants were Sandy Addug, Princess Diane Galzote, and Zyrhelle Daileg. Grade 10 was represented by Zaira Adawi and Harvey Cayat, while Grade 9 participants were Neil Patrick Ngayawon and Mharicar Naboye. Grade 8 participants included John Khevin Mangkey, Kristel Anne Mariano, and Glory V. Luyo.

The SSLG facilitated the activity in coordination with the IPED Adviser as part of its support for the school's Cordillera Month celebration. Through the quiz, learners were given an opportunity to test and expand their knowledge of the Cordillera while engaging in a meaningful educational activity.

After the quiz, the participants' answer sheets were collected by the SSLG. The officers will check the papers and compute the participants' scores to determine the results. The results and certificates will be announced and distributed on Monday, August 17.

The activity then concluded with a closing prayer, formally ending the Cordilleran Quiz Bee.

The activity highlights the importance of learning about and appreciating the Cordillera's diverse cultural heritage while encouraging learners to take an active role in celebrating and preserving the identity of the region.

The Fort Del Pilar National High School (FDPNHS) School Parents-Teachers Association (SPTA) raised 10,000.00 to support the bereaved families of two students of Guisad Valley National High School, two students of Bonifacio Elementary School, and one ALS learner affected by the tragic landslide in Guisad Surong.

The 10,000 total donation was delivered by SPTA President Mrs. Christy Gorio, SPTA Disbursing Officer Mrs. Raziel Duco, and BOD Representative Mr. Nathaniel Felipe and turned over to Mr. Peter Wasing, President of the Federation of Parents-Teachers Associations (FPTA), on August 14, 2026.

The amount was raised through a donation drive initiated by the SPTA officers, with parents and guardians of Fort Del Pilarians contributing through in-person donations and GCash, despite the short notice.

The initiative once again demonstrated the spirit of bayanihan within the FDPNHS community, as parents, guardians, and SPTA officers came together to extend assistance to families facing loss and hardship.

The FDPNHS community extends its heartfelt gratitude to all parents, guardians, SPTA officers, and other donors who generously responded to the call for assistance. Their willingness to help despite the short notice reflects the genuine compassion, empathy, and solidarity of the Fort Del Pilarians.

In times of loss and hardship, every contribution, big or small, becomes a meaningful expression of care, proving that bayanihan and compassion remain alive, especially when they are needed most.
