๐๐ข๐ญ๐ฒ ๐๐๐ฅ๐ฅ, ๐๐๐ ๐ฎ๐ข๐จ ๐๐ข๐ญ๐ฒ โThe newly renovated City Accounting Office was formally turned over in a solemn ceremony and short program on Thursday, March 26, 2026. Present during the occasion were Mayor Benjamin B. Magalong, City Accountant Fredda C. Jimenez and the Accounting Office staff, as well as other officials, employees and guests. Rev. Fr. Marion Joseph Nebres officiated the brief ceremony.
Messages during the program underscored the importance of investing in spaces that support the people behind essential government services. Beyond aesthetics or structural improvement, the project aimed to create an environment that fosters accuracy, accountability, and responsiveness โcornerstones of any trusted financial system.
Mayor Magalong was visibly impressed during his brief tour of the office. In his message, he congratulated the City Engineering Office, led by City Engineer Richard Lardizabal, for the โwonderful and well-designed officeโ. He also expressed his confidence that the City Accounting personnel will take care of their newly refurbished office space.
On behalf of the City Accounting Office, Ms. Jimenez delivered her acceptance of the new and improved workplace, and gave her assurance that the space will be well taken care of and serve as an inspiration for the office to continue to strive for excellence in the performance of its duties. She conveyed her gratitude and acknowledgment to the architects and planners โ led by Architect Darwin Aliga of the CEO โ and all other staff whose collective efforts brought the project to completion.
In a city known for its resilience and highland character, even the transformation of an office becomes part of a larger narrative. The refurbished City Accounting Office now stands as a reflection of the cityโs evolving standards in governanceโwhere functionality meets purpose, and where the everyday work of stewardship over public funds is carried out with greater efficiency and dignity. -JTB
