The Environmental Health and Sanitation Division under the City Health Services Office led by Engr. Albert M. Pay-an conducted Sanitary Inspections at establishments located along Session Road and Governor Pack Road. This is in line with the directive of Mayor Benjamin B. Magalong on the strict implementation of the Sanitation Code focusing on the proper maintenance of toilet and handwashing facilities, to include the provision of hand hygiene necessities such as soaps, paper towels, etc. in all comfort rooms.
A total of 199 establishments were inspected. 127 of which are compliant to the sanitary provisions of PD 856. 72 establishments were found to be in violation of sanitary standards and were issued Sanitary Orders.
Sanitation Inspectors are closely monitoring safe food preparation and service, quality of drinking water, toilet and handwashing facilities, proper waste storage and disposal, and food products being sold as "pasalubong" i.e. expiration dates and making sure that all products being sold are in good condition with proper labeling.
All establishments are advised to comply with the standards provided by the Sanitation Code, maintaining safe food handling procedures, available safe drinking water, adequate toilet and handwashing provisions, and regular sanitary procedures within their premises.
