Kias Elementary School successfully conducted the KAAGAPAY Task Force Orientation on September 8, 2026, at 2:00 PM, bringing together SPTA officers, HRPTA presidents, SELG officers, faculty, and staff, barangay officials and partners in a shared effort to strengthen cooperation among the school, parents, learners, and community partners.

School Head, Sir Nickcarter Junior C. Gonzalo welcomed the participants and provided an overview of the KAAGAPAY Program, explaining how it will be implemented in the school. He emphasized the importance of collaboration among teachers, parents, learners, and community stakeholders in ensuring that school programs effectively respond to the needs of the pupils.

Nathaniel S. Felipe, SPTA President, introduced the resource speaker, Peter O. Wasing, FPTA President, who led the KAAGAPAY Task Force discussion. Wasing highlighted the importance of the KAAGAPAY Program, particularly the significant roles and responsibilities of parents as members of the task force. He stressed that parents serve as important partners of the school in maintaining a safe, disciplined, and learner-friendly environment. He further emphasized that the welfare and best interests of the learners will always remain the priority of the program.

Adding to the discussion, Maria Theresa Calalo shared valuable insights on the important role parents play in the formation of learners’ behaviour, values, and character. She underscored that children’s development becomes stronger when the values taught at school are continuously reinforced at home.

The orientation was further enriched by the presence of Barangay Kias Captain Victor O. Benlingan Jr. and PMSg Conrad Steve Maganon Malaga of BCPO Station 4, who shared their insights and expressed support for initiatives that promote the safety, discipline, and well-being of learners. Their participation highlighted the importance of strong partnerships between the school, families, barangay officials, and law-enforcement personnel.

An open forum facilitated by Maam Cathy Claire D. Danalo gave participants an opportunity to clarify concerns and share ideas regarding the implementation of the program. Maam Delia B. Benito, Faculty President, delivered the closing remarks, while Jezreel L. Maske, Intermediate Teacher, led the closing prayer.

Through the KAAGAPAY Task Force Orientation, Kias Elementary School reaffirmed its commitment to building a stronger partnership with families and the community in creating a safe, supportive, and values-centered learning environment.

𝗨𝗥𝗚𝗘𝗡𝗧 𝗔𝗣𝗣𝗘𝗔𝗟 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗗𝗢𝗡𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗦

The Schools Division Office of Baguio City is conducting a donation drive on August 11–13, 2026, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., to support families currently staying in evacuation areas across the city.

In the spirit of unity and compassion, Kias Elementary School is reaching out to support the families of our pupils affected by the typhoon. One family is temporarily staying with kind neighbours at Purok 7, while two families from Purok 5 and one family from Purok 8 have chosen to remain in their homes despite the recent erosion incidents.

Those who wish to share may voluntarily donate food, drinking water, clothing, blankets, hygiene supplies, and other basic necessities. Donations may be brought to the Kias Barangay Hall, Kias, Baguio City.

Every donation, no matter how small, can provide comfort and hope to families in need. Let us come together and extend our care and support to our fellow Baguio residents during this difficult time.

July 24,2026- Kias Elementary School conducted an Anti-Smoking and Anti-Vaping Campaign to educate learners about the harmful effects of ci******es and electronic ci******es or vapes. The activity was participated in by Kindergarten to Grade 6 learners, faculty and staff, and parents.

The campaign featured Ma’am Brenda T. Odangga, Pop Com Worker, together with Ma'am Jonalyn Piliyen and Ma'am Beverly Pimentel, both Barangay Health Workers. The speakers reminded the learners that smoking and va**ng can harm the body, particularly the lungs, and can negatively affect the health of people nearby.

The participants were also informed about Baguio City Ordinance No. 34, Series of 2017, otherwise known as the “Smoke-Free Baguio Ordinance.” It prohibits the use, sale, distribution, and advertisement of ci******es, vapes, and other to***co products in certain places, including schools and other public areas. The ordinance seeks to protect people, especially children, from the harmful effects of smoking and va**ng.

The speakers encouraged the learners to make healthy choices, stay away from ci******es and vapes, and respectfully remind others that the school is a smoke-free and vape-free zone. Learners were also advised to seek help from their parents, teachers, or other trusted adults if someone encourages them to try these harmful products.

The campaign was made possible through the leadership and unwavering support of our School Head, Sir Nickcarter Junior C. Gonzalo, and through the valuable assistance of the HSO and BCPO Station 4 personnel.

Through this meaningful campaign, Kias Elementary School continues to teach every learner an important lesson: choosing a smoke-free and vape-free life is choosing better health and a brighter future.

On July 24, 2026, Kias Elementary School successfully conducted an Anti-Bullying Campaign at the school covered court during flag ceremony. The activity was led by the Grade 6–Sincerity learners under the guidance of their adviser, Ma’am Desiree Ann S. Domerez, who also serves as the school’s Guidance Designate and Child Protection Policy Coordinator, learners from Kindergarten to Grade 6 actively participated in the campaign. This campaign was made possible through the leadership and unwavering support of our School Head, Sir Nickcarter Junior C. Gonzalo.

Our Resource Speakers from BCPO Station 4, PCpl Jayverly T Dulnuan, Pt Carla O. Dao-ayen, and Pt Sunshine B. Dangiwana aimed to increase awareness about bullying and promote kindness, respect, inclusion, and responsible behaviour among all members of the school community.

The highlight of the campaign was the school-wide dance presentation featuring the “No Bullying Today” song. Learners from all grade levels enthusiastically joined the dance, creating a lively and meaningful expression of unity and solidarity against bullying.

Kias Elementary School remains committed to sustaining programmes and activities that promote kindness, empathy, respect, unity, and the protection of every child.

𝐊𝐢𝐚𝐬 𝐄𝐒 𝐋𝐚𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐬 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐂𝐫𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐞

July 6,2026- In support of Division Memorandum No. 432, s. 2026, titled "Creation and Composition of the Student Crime Prevention Committee (SCPC)," Kias Elementary School formally organized its Student Crime Prevention Committee (SCPC) to strengthen school safety, promote responsible citizenship, and empower learners to actively participate in maintaining a peaceful and secure learning environment.

The committee is composed of the following SELG leaders:

Secretary: Andrei James Eugenio
Members: All SELG Officers

Serving as the committee's Board of Advisers is headed by School Head Sir NickCarter Junior C. Gonzalo, who will provide guidance and oversight in the implementation of the committee's programs and activities in accordance with the memorandum.

During the organizational meeting headed by Ma'am Rejoice Budeng, SELG adviser, committee members were oriented on the duties and responsibilities of the Student Crime Prevention Committee based on the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) among the National Police Commission (NAPOLCOM), the Department of Education (DepEd), and the Commission on Higher Education (CHED). Discussions centered on the committee's role in formulating school-based crime prevention initiatives, conducting information drives, promoting discipline, and fostering a culture of safety among learners.

The meeting also featured valuable insights from members of the teaching force. Ma'am Flordeluna Sumayao shared lessons from a school case involving alcoholism that occurred three years ago, emphasizing the importance of early intervention, guidance, and collaborative support in addressing student concerns. Ma'am Desiree Domerez, Guidance Counselor designate discussed the growing issue of va**ng among learners, highlighting the need for continuous awareness campaigns and preventive education. Meanwhile, Sir Nathaniel provided guidance on the proper procedures and protocols to be observed whenever Oplan Kapkap or similar school safety operations are conducted, ensuring that such activities uphold learners' rights while maintaining campus security.

An open discussion followed, where SELG officers identified initiatives that they can lead, including peer awareness campaigns, classroom information dissemination, and promoting positive student behavior. They also clarified concerns and situations that should immediately be referred to teachers, school administrators, or the Board of Advisers for appropriate intervention and action.

Through the creation of the Student Crime Prevention Committee, Kias Elementary School reaffirms its commitment to nurturing responsible, informed, and law-abiding learners. By strengthening collaboration among student leaders, school personnel, parents, and community partners, the school continues to build a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment where every learner can thrive.

The LAPIS Art Club of Kias Elementary School was successfully reactivated in late November 2025, providing learners with a creative space to develop and express their artistic talents. Since its reopening, the club has been conducting regular sessions every Monday and Friday under the guidance of Ma'am Angiela B. Enriquez, LAPIS Art Club Adviser. During these sessions, members participate in various art activities that enhance their creativity, imagination, and artistic skills.

Through the dedication and guidance of the school, headed by our School Head NickCarter Junior C. Gonzalo, the commitment of the club adviser, and the active participation of its members, the LAPIS Art Club continues to inspire learners to explore their passion for the arts while fostering confidence, collaboration, and self-expression.

As part of its continuing commitment to provide a safe, accessible, and conducive learning environment for all learners, Kias Elementary School officially conducted the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) Signing with its valued external stakeholders for the establishment of Temporary Learning Spaces (TLS).

This significant achievement is the result of a series of meetings and consultations initiated by the school with the guidance and leadership of School Head, NickCarter Junior C. Gonzalo during the vacation period. School officials met with leaders of various faith-based organizations and the Kias Barangay to discuss collaborative efforts in addressing the school's learning space needs while ensuring uninterrupted delivery of quality education.

The school expresses its heartfelt gratitude to its partner stakeholders: St. Joseph the Worker Kias, Kias Episcopal Church, Mount Mission Ministries, and the Kias Barangay, for their generosity, trust, and unwavering commitment to supporting the education of every child.

Through the signed agreement, these partner institutions have pledged their support by making available temporary learning spaces that will help accommodate learners and create a more conducive environment for teaching and learning. This initiative reflects the shared belief that educating children is a collective responsibility that requires strong collaboration among schools, communities, faith-based organizations, and local government units.

The MOA signing marks not only the formalization of this partnership but also the beginning of a stronger and more meaningful collaboration aimed at promoting learner welfare and educational excellence.

Theme: “Leading with Purpose, Serving with Heart, Building a Stronger School Community”

July 3,2026- The school successfully conducted its Induction Program to formally install the newly elected and appointed student, parent, and faculty leaders for the school year. The program served as a meaningful occasion to recognize the vital role of every officer in promoting effective leadership, collaboration, and shared responsibility in achieving the school's goals.

School Head, Sir NickCarter Junior C. Gonzalo, delivered the Welcome Remarks, warmly welcoming all guests, officers, parents, teachers, and stakeholders while emphasizing the importance of servant leadership and unity within the school community.

To strengthen the partnership between the school and the local government during the Barangay Hour, Kagawad Jude Tobias shared an inspiring message on behalf of Barangay Captain Victor O. Benlingan Jr. reaffirming the barangay's commitment to supporting school programs and initiatives.

One of the highlights of the event was the Presentation of Officers, where the newly elected and appointed Faculty Officers, School Parents-Teachers Association (SPTA) Officers, Homeroom Parents-Teachers Association (HRPTA) Officers, Supreme Elementary Learner Government (SELG) Officers, Classroom Officers, and other Club Officers were formally introduced to the school community.

The Faculty Club President, Ma'am Delia B. Benito, then introduced the Inducting Officer, Hon. Mauricio G. Domogan, who administered the oath of office. Through the oath-taking ceremony, the officers solemnly pledged to uphold their duties with integrity, accountability, dedication, and commitment to serving the school community.

Following the induction, Hon. Congressman Mauricio G. Domogan delivered an inspirational message, encouraging the newly inducted leaders to lead by example, serve with humility, and become responsible partners in promoting quality education and positive school governance.

The program also featured the President's Hour, during which Mr. Nathaniel S. Felipe, SPTA President, expressed gratitude to all stakeholders and encouraged continuous cooperation among parents, teachers, learners, and the community in supporting the school's vision and mission.

The event concluded with the Acknowledgement delivered by Mrs. Joyce D. Erasquin, SPTA Vice President, who recognized the efforts of all individuals and organizations that contributed to the success of the program.

The successful conduct of the Induction Program reaffirmed the school's commitment to developing responsible, service-oriented, and purpose-driven leaders. It also strengthened the partnership among the school, parents, local government, and the community, fostering a collaborative environment where every officer is empowered to contribute meaningfully to the continuous growth and success of the school.
