Rizalian Campus journalists shine in RSPC 2026
The way to the stage was not easy for the collaborative writers of Rizal Elementary School who landed third place in the recently concluded CAR Regional Schools Press Conference (RSPC) in Bangued, Abra on March 9-13.
The team joined the same competition (Collaborative Desktop Publishing, English Category) during the RSPC 2025 in Tadian Mountain Province but lost against the seven other divisions which led to their drive to work harder and do better this year, and their hard work paid off. Although the group will not advance to the national competition Belle Javier, Faiza Joy Aboyme, Jamilla Ritha Martin, Alexandria Alcazar, Athena Jessamine Taliwan, Jaan Layus, and Zhian Binmokod with their coach Genesis Yang-ed proudly received their certificates which added to the points gained by the Schools Division of Baguio City as the champion in the RSPC 2026.
Individual writers likewise won in different categories during the Division Schools Press Conference qualifying them to the RSPC. Gabriel Caleb G. Laron got third place in ‘Pagsulat ng Lathalain’, Princess Jay V. Logdo second place in ‘Pagsulat ng Editoriyal’, Jillian Trixie R. Ducusin second in ‘Pagsulat ng Kolum’ under the guidance of Coach Annabel De Guzman while Alexia Leigh Ngaosi won second place in Copyreading and Headline Writing and Ruby Rayne Racuya third place in Editorial Cartooning with Coach Jocelyn Raborar.
The Filipino newsletter ‘Ang Rizalian’ is among the top ten school papers placing seventh in ‘Pahinang Agtek’ and will be included in the National School Press Conference in April.
Earlier, 'Ang Rizalian' also won several awards in the DSPC, including 1st place in Pahinang Lathalain, 1st in Pahinang Agtek, 3rd in Layout, and 4th in Pahinang Isports.
