🚨 DUCK, COVER, AND HOLD! 🚨
Earlier this morning, June 18, 2026, at exactly 9:00 AM, Vidal Cauntoy Elementary School successfully conducted its first National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) for the first term of the school year!
We are proud to report a grand total of 708 participants who actively took part in the exercise, demonstrating alertness, discipline, and quick thinking. Here is the official breakdown of today's attendees:
Pupils: 671 (369 Males | 302 Females)
Teachers: 28 (4 Males | 24 Females)
Utility & Canteen Workers: 9 (3 Males | 6 Females)
Why do we conduct NSED? 🤔
The National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill is a quarterly initiative designed to test and strengthen the disaster preparedness and response protocols of schools and communities nationwide. Since the Philippines is located along the Pacific Ring of Fire, it is highly prone to seismic activity.
Regular drills like NSED are crucial tungod kay:
