Balay!!!
Since the early twentieth century, the Bagonhons referred to General Araneta's house as Balay ni Tan Juan. In 1906, the general acquired the house from his niece and lived in the house until his death in 1924. The family eventually donated the house to the City of Bago which turned the house into a museum.
From 1800 to 1898 the town experienced tyranny and oppression from the Spanish the people then revolted against them, General Juan Araneta led the rally for the struggle of freedom on November 5, 1898. This historic event was chronicled in the Public plaza of Bago City.
