The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), through the Bureau of Import Services (BIS), in collaboration with DTI Region 4A, conducted the Awareness Campaign & Education on Trade Remedies and Trade Related Matters (ACE on Trade) on August 26, 2026, at Hotel Casiana & Events Center, Tagaytay City, Cavite.
The one-day learning session gathered Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) from across the CALABARZON region, providing them with information on trade remedies, international trade policies, import and export procedures, trade transparency, and supply chain and logistics.
The activity was attended by the DTI Region 4A Provincial Directors, headed by Regional Director Marissa C. Argente and Assistant Regional Director Revelyn A. Cortez, together with the Business Development Division (BDD) Division Chiefs and staff from DTI 4A.
The program opened with welcome remarks from Regional Director Argente, followed by opening remarks from Undersecretary Ceferino S. Rodolfo, DPA, Supervising Head of the Industry Development and Policy Group (IDPG).
Sessions covered trade remedies and formal investigation practices, presented by the DTI-Bureau of Import Services and Tariff Commission, respectively. Participants were also introduced to the Philippine National Trade Repository (PNTR), gaining practical knowledge on accessing Philippine trade-related rules, regulations, and requirements and navigating the online repository.
The afternoon sessions focused on free trade agreements, import and export requirements and rules on proofs of origin, market trends and export procedures and strategies, and supply chain and logistics support for MSMEs. The Supply Chain and Logistics Center (SCLC) was presented as DTIโ€™s go-to hub for supply chain and logistics-related services, highlighting its connections to logistics service providers and industry resources that MSMEs can tap to address their logistics needs.
The activity also featured an industry perspective from DSV Global Transport and Logistics, which shared best practices in warehouse operations and distribution that MSMEs can apply to strengthen their business operations.
The activity concluded with closing remarks from BIS Director Maria Guiza Lim, who emphasized the importance of equipping MSMEs with the knowledge and resources needed to navigate the evolving trade environment.
DTI aims to equip MSMEs with knowledge, resources, and industry connections to help them navigate trade requirements, explore market opportunities, and enhance their competitiveness in the domestic and global market.
