As we celebrate the Coronation Night, we draw inspiration from the literary genius of our very own Juan Crisostomo Soto. While his masterpiece Miss Phathupats warned us of losing our way, tonightโs modern Bacoloreรฑas reclaim that narrative.
Dressed in vibrant circus attireโa nod to the storyโs theatrical rootsโwe transform the spectacle into a symbol of courage and authenticity. The circus is a place of wonder, skill, and transformation, much like the journey of a woman finding her true voice. Unlike the satirical Yeyeng, our queens wear their "costumes" not to hide their heritage, but to celebrate the multifaceted beauty of the Kapampangan spirit.
True power lies in humility and the grace to remember where we came from. We prove that a Bacoloreรฑa can master the worldโs languages and stages while keeping her heart firmly rooted in the soil of her ancestors. Tonight, we arenโt just performers; we are the authors of our own empowerment.
