As of 6:00 P.M., October 11,2026 โ The ๐ข๐ณ๐ณ๐ถ๐ฐ๐ฒ ๐ผ๐ณ ๐๐ถ๐๐ถ๐น ๐๐ฒ๐ณ๐ฒ๐ป๐๐ฒโ๐ก๐ฒ๐ด๐ฟ๐ผ๐ ๐๐๐น๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐ฅ๐ฒ๐ด๐ถ๐ผ๐ป (๐ข๐๐-๐ก๐๐ฅ) reported ash fall, sulfur odor, booming sounds, and ground shaking in several communities near Kanlaon Volcano following its moderately explosive eruption on October 10, based on verified reports from affected local government units (LGUโs).
OCD-NIR continues to consolidate these reports to monitor the situation and determine potential need response.
PHIVOLCS recorded five volcanic activity events at Kanlaon Volcano on October 11. At 1:28 a.m., an ash plume rose 400 meters above the summit crater and drifted west and northwest. At 3:18 a.m., minor Strombolian activity produced a plume that reached 500 meters and drifted west-northwest. Another ash emission at 5:15 a.m. reached 600 meters and drifted generally westward. In the afternoon, ash emissions were recorded at 3:47 p.m. and 4:53 p.m., with both plumes reaching 600 meters above the summit crater and drifting northwest.
As of the latest reports, no families have been reported displaced by the October 10 eruption.
Kanlaon Volcano remains at Alert Level 2. Entry into the four-kilometer Permanent Danger Zone (PDZ) remains prohibited. Residents are urged to follow official advisories from the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) and their respective LGUs, take precautions against ashfall, and comply with established safety restrictions.
