BFP Negros Occidental personnel gathered for the traditional Monday Flag Raising Ceremony, reaffirming their commitment to duty, discipline, and service to the community. The ceremony served as a meaningful reminder of the values of professionalism, integrity, and dedication expected of every public servant.

The activity was headed by FSUPT RODEL T LEGASPI, DSC, Acting Provincial Fire Marshal, together with the officers and personnel of BFP Negros Occidental.

As another week begins, the men and women of BFP Negros Occidental remain steadfast in carrying out their mandate of protecting lives and properties and serving the people of Negros Occidental with competence, compassion, and commitment.

Bureau of Fire Protection Negros Occidental, led by FSUPT JENNY MAE C MASIP, Caretaker, welcomed BFP personnel who recently completed the Joint Training Program 10: Collapsed Structure Search and Rescue (CSSR) Training at the National Fire Agency Training Center (NFATC) in Nantou, Taiwan.

Following their successful completion of the specialized international training, the delegates paid a Courtesy Call and shared their experiences, as well as the knowledge and skills they gained throughout the program. The training provided them with enhanced competencies in collapsed structure search and rescue, including specialized techniques, teamwork, decision-making, and operational coordination in complex emergency situations.

The activity highlights the Bureau’s continuing commitment to strengthening the capabilities of its personnel through specialized and international training opportunities. The knowledge gained by the delegates will further contribute to enhancing the readiness and effectiveness of BFP personnel in responding to emergencies and disaster situations.

BFP Negros Occidental, led by FSUPT RODEL T LEGASPI, DSC, Acting Provincial Fire Marshal, took part in the Tree Planting Activity held on September 25, 2026, at the UPC Bioenergy Nursery, Brgy. Mahalang, Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental.

Joining the activity were BFP personnel from the Office of the Provincial Fire Marshal, Himamaylan City Fire Station, and the 5th District Fire Stations, together with partner agencies, including the Philippine National Police (PNP), Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), and City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO).

The activity underscored the importance of inter-agency collaboration in protecting and preserving the environment. Through collective efforts, the participating agencies contributed to environmental conservation while strengthening their shared commitment to serving and supporting the community.

BFP Negros Occidental, led by FSUPT RODEL T LEGASPI, DSC, Acting Provincial Fire Marshal, participated in the Training of Trainers (ToT) on Camp Coordination and Camp Management (CCCM) Integrating Child Protection in Emergencies, led by the Negros Occidental Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) in coordination with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Negros Island Region.

Representing BFP Negros Occidental were FO3 Francis D Hiponia and FO1 Khrisa Mea L Resuma, who participated in the capacity-building activity aimed at enhancing the knowledge and skills of responders in camp coordination and management, with emphasis on integrating child protection measures in emergency and displacement settings.

The participation of BFP Negros Occidental highlights its commitment to strengthening inter-agency coordination and emergency response capabilities, particularly in promoting the safety, protection, and well-being of children and other vulnerable individuals during emergencies and disasters.

The Bureau of Fire Protection Negros Occidental, led by FSUPT RODEL T LEGASPI, DSC, Acting Provincial Fire Marshal, conducted a series of community-centered activities at Linaw Bubong, Brgy. San Miguel, La Carlota City. The initiative included a river cleanup and tree planting activity spearheaded by the La Carlota City Fire Station under the leadership of SFO4 Francis Plomeda Jr, with the participation of BFP personnel from various fire stations in the province.

Adding a meaningful community touch to the initiative was the conduct of Kusina ni Bumbero, providing an opportunity for BFP personnel to engage with and serve the local community. The activities underscore the BFP's commitment to environmental stewardship, public service, and community partnership, bringing together BFP personnel in promoting a cleaner environment and strengthening its connection with the communities it serves.

The Bureau of Fire Protection–Negros Island Region (BFP-NIR), under the servanthood of FSSUPT GERRY G BERTE, Acting Regional Director, advises the public to remain cautious and vigilant against an individual falsely representing himself as BFP personnel assigned at the Bureau of Fire Protection National Headquarters.
The said individual reportedly demonstrated familiarity with BFP personnel and leadership, including name-dropping a BFP Officer, in an attempt to gain trust and solicit favors.

The BFP-NIR reiterates that all official transactions and communications of the Bureau are coursed through proper channels and official contact numbers.

For verification and reporting of any similar fraudulent acts, please contact BFP-NIR or report to the nearest police station.
Let us remain vigilant against scams that tarnish the name of the Bureau and exploit our personnel.

The Office of the Provincial Fire Marshal, Negros Occidental, welcomed the courtesy call of the incoming and outgoing Municipal Fire Marshals following their respective reassignments within the province.

SFO2 Lhynn M Delos Reyes was reassigned as the Acting Municipal Fire Marshal/Collecting Officer of Candoni Fire Station, Negros Occidental, while SFO2 Leo Noel M Delos Reyes was reassigned as the Acting Municipal Fire Marshal/Collecting Officer of Ilog Fire Station, Negros Occidental.

The courtesy call was rendered to FSUPT RODEL T LEGASPI, DSC, Acting Provincial Fire Marshal, as part of the transition and assumption of their respective responsibilities, reaffirming the commitment of the Bureau of Fire Protection to ensure continuity of effective fire protection and public safety services throughout the province.
