In solidarity with the global movement of Earth Hour, the SDRRM Unit proudly stands as one in promoting environmental awareness, climate action, and responsibility. As responders, leaders, and protectors of life, we understand that disasters are not only responded to, they are prevented through awareness, discipline, and collective action.

Tonight, as we turn off the lights and hold our candles, we symbolize more than just participation we represent hope, unity, and commitment. Each flame reflects our duty to care for our environment, to reduce risks, and to inspire others to take part in protecting the only home we all share.

Our sincere appreciation to our coordinators, coaches, and the Granada Fire Fighters, as well as Barangay Granada CFAG, for their guidance, support, and shared expertise throughout the competition.

𝗦𝗗𝗥𝗥𝗠 𝗥𝗘𝗦𝗖𝗨𝗘 𝗨𝗡𝗜𝗧 𝗗𝗘𝗣𝗟𝗢𝗬𝗘𝗗

The SDRRM Rescue Unit of Emiliano Lizares National High School was successfully deployed during the National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) held on March 12, 2026.

During the drill, the SDRRM Rescue Unit actively participated in emergency response operations, demonstrating proper rescue procedures, evacuation support, and first aid assistance to ensure the safety and preparedness of all participants.

The deployment was led by Wyeth Clark V. Fangunil, SDRRM Student Coordinator, together with the dedicated SDRRM personnel who worked efficiently during the activity.

This operation was conducted under the supervision of Sir Rogelio Boy Espinosa, SDRRM Coordinator, Ma'am Mievel Geolingo, SDRRM Co-Coordinator and, Ma'am Melkaye shane Gallardo Incoming SDRRM Coordinator, ensuring that all rescue protocols and safety measures were properly followed.

Through activities like the NSED, ELNHS continues to strengthen disaster preparedness and promote a culture of safety among all Lizarians.

1st Quarter National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) 2026

Today, the School Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (SDRRM) Team successfully conducted the National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) as part of our continuous commitment to promoting disaster preparedness and safety within our school community. This activity aims to strengthen the awareness, readiness, and response of students, teachers, and staff in the event of an earthquake.

During the drill, participants practiced the proper “Duck, Cover, and Hold” procedure and followed the designated evacuation protocols to ensure safety during seismic emergencies. The SDRRM team also demonstrated different emergency response scenarios, including first aid treatment for injured individuals and rescue operations for victims affected by the simulated disaster. These activities helped showcase the importance of quick thinking, teamwork, and proper coordination during emergencies.

Through this drill, everyone was reminded that preparedness and knowledge can save lives. Activities like the National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill help develop discipline, awareness, and responsibility among students and staff when responding to disasters. It also allows responders and volunteers to enhance their skills in emergency response, first aid, and rescue operations, ensuring that help can be provided immediately when needed.

The SDRRM Team would like to thank all students, teachers, and partner organizations who actively participated and supported this activity. The Donors’ Day Fun Run was successfully conducted through the collective efforts and strong collaboration of the Emiliano Lizares National High School SDRRM Council, the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) – Barangay Granada Fire Sub-Station, and the Barangay Granada Rescue Team.

Throughout the activity, the partnered response teams worked hand in hand to ensure the safety, security, and well-being of all participants, from the starting line to the finish point. Medical readiness, crowd management, and emergency response measures were fully in place, allowing the event to proceed smoothly and safely.

This joint deployment highlights the importance of coordination, preparedness, and teamwork in managing large school and community activities. The presence of trained responders and emergency personnel provided reassurance to runners and organizers alike, reflecting a shared commitment to public safety and community service.

The success of this event stands as a testament to what can be achieved when institutions and local response units come together with one goal—to protect lives while supporting healthy and meaningful activities.

In preparation for the upcoming Donors’ Day Fun Run, the Emiliano Lizares National High School SDRRM Council conducted a comprehensive pre-event safety assessment to ensure a safe and well-organized activity for all participants.

The SDRRM team carried out a thorough inspection of the fun run route, identifying potential hazards, checking road and pathway conditions, and ensuring that all areas are safe and accessible. In addition, emergency and medical equipment were carefully checked and prepared, including first-aid kits, communication tools, and response materials to guarantee readiness in case immediate assistance is needed.

This proactive preparation reflects the SDRRM’s commitment to risk reduction, prevention, and preparedness, ensuring that safety measures are in place even before the event begins. Through careful planning, teamwork, and coordination with event organizers and school personnel, the SDRRM aims to provide a secure environment where participants can enjoy the activity with confidence and peace of mind.

In the aftermath of Tropical Cyclone “Tino,” the Emiliano Lizares National High School SDRRM Council once again demonstrated their unwavering dedication to service and community care.

For two consecutive days, the SDRRM team carried out clearing and safety operations across the school grounds, ensuring that pathways, classrooms, and open spaces were free from debris and potential hazards left by the storm. Despite the challenging weather and demanding workload, the team worked with discipline, teamwork, and commitment, proving that true service means standing up even after the storm has passed.

Their tireless effort reflects the SDRRM’s core mission, to protect, respond, and restore, guided by the spirit of volunteerism and compassion. These young responders embody the essence of resilience and unity, working hand in hand for the safety and readiness of the entire school community.

The operation was headed by Wyeth Clark V. Fangunil, SDRRM Student-Coordinator, and Ma’am Mievel Geolingo, SDRRM Co-Coordinator, with the active leadership of Ma'am Cherish L. Flor Principal IV, and the support of dedicated SDRRM members from various grade levels.

In light of the recent weather advisory released by PAGASA regarding the presence of Tropical Cyclone “Tino”, and in coordination with the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) and the Department of Education, Emiliano Lizares National High School (ELNHS) hereby announces the suspension of all face-to-face classes on *NOVEMBER 3 - 4* as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of all learners, teachers, and staff.

The SDRRM Council urges everyone to remain vigilant and prioritize safety during this period. Strong winds, heavy rainfall, and possible flooding are expected in some areas, which may pose risks to travel and outdoor activities. Learners are reminded to stay indoors, charge essential devices, prepare emergency kits, and stay informed through trusted news sources and official school advisories.

Parents and guardians are likewise encouraged to monitor their children’s safety and mental well-being during the weather disturbance. Teachers and section advisers will coordinate online or through designated communication channels regarding class updates and alternative learning arrangements once conditions improve.

𝗦𝗗𝗥𝗥𝗠 𝗖𝗔𝗥𝗘 𝗜𝗡 𝗔𝗖𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡: 𝗣𝘀𝘆𝗰𝗵𝗼𝘀𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗼𝗲𝘀 💛🕊️

In the spirit of caring for the emotional and mental well-being of our members, the Emiliano Lizares National High School SDRRM Council conducted a Psychosocial Support Activity.

As responders, the SDRRM team often stands at the frontlines ready to act, ready to serve, ready to care. Yet, even those who protect and help others need time to heal, reflect, and regain strength. This initiative served as a safe space for our members to process emotions, find comfort, and remind themselves that resilience grows stronger when shared.

“Even a rescuer needs to be rescued too, because the strongest hearts are those that have known pain and chose to heal.” ❤️

The session emphasized the importance of mental health, peer support, and empathy, guided by the principle that healing is part of preparedness. Through guided sharing, reflection, and support from peers and coordinators, SDRRM members were reminded that caring for themselves allows them to care better for others.

The activity was facilitated under the leadership of our school counselor Sir Patrick calamba held at the guidance center.

The SDRRM family stands united, not only in times of disaster but also in moments of healing and recovery. Because in serving others, we must never forget to serve ourselves with compassion too.

Despite the heavy rain, the Emiliano Lizares National High School SDRRM Council successfully completed their mission during the Grade 12 Cheerdance Competition.

The team was deployed to ensure the safety and well-being of all participants and spectators, providing medical assistance and maintaining order throughout the event. With commitment, teamwork, and dedication, the SDRRM members once again proved that service goes beyond comfort and convenience, it is a duty carried out with heart and purpose.

The deployment was headed by Wyeth Clark V Fangunil, Student Coordinator, together with SDRRM Members From grade 11, under the supervision of Ma'am Cherish flor, Principal IV, with the active leadership of Sir Rogelio Espinosa, SDRRM Coordinator, and Ma’am Mievel Geolingo, SDRRM Co-Coordinator/Clinic In-Charge.

Through rain or shine, the SDRRM stands strong in its mission of saving lives and promoting safety within the school community.

Former members or individuals who have left the SDRRM but continue to wear the uniform are asked to stop wearing SDRRM insignia and apparel immediately. Continued unauthorized use may result in disciplinary action in accordance with school policies.

If you previously served in the SDRRM and still have uniform items, please keep and take a good care or coordinate with the SDRRM Office.

We appreciate the service of former members; however, maintaining the integrity and public trust of the SDRRM requires that only current, trained, and authorized personnel represent the team in uniform.
