A memorable and meaningful RIC Achievement Day 2026 was held on August 17, 2026, at the Centennial Arena, Laoag City, bringing together the Rural Improvement Clubs of Ilocos Norte in a wonderful celebration of accomplishments, camaraderie, and community spirit.

A heartfelt congratulations to Ms. Marilyn D. Eda of RIC Bacarra, our newly crowned Ginang RIC Queen 2026!

Your grace, confidence, and dedication truly shine as a wonderful representation of the women of RIC.

Reliving the most memorable evening of the 2026 Bacarra Farmers Festival—the RBO Night and Gng. RIC Bacarra 2026 Coronation Night.

The celebration brought together Rural-Based Organizations (RBOs), farmers, fisherfolk, government officials, and guests in a night dedicated to recognizing the invaluable contributions of our agricultural community.

The occasion was graced by Hon. Derek B. Velasco, then Acting Municipal Mayor, as the Guest of Honor and Speaker, who crowned Gng. RIC Bacarra 2026.

The evening also became a platform for recognizing the outstanding talents of Bacarreños through the awarding of the winners of the Daniw Writing Contest and Digital Art Making Contest, celebrating creativity, culture, and the spirit of agriculture.

As we look back on this remarkable celebration, we are reminded that the strength of Bacarra's agricultural sector lies not only in its harvests but also in the unity, dedication, and passion of the people who continue to serve and inspire our farming and fishing communities.

Here's to the unforgettable memories of RBO Night and Gng. RIC Bacarra 2026, and to many more years of empowering our RBOs and celebrating the people behind Bacarra's agricultural success.

Another milestone for Zanja de Ganagan Irrigators' Association Inc., which has been recognized as the 2025 Most Outstanding Irrigators Association (IA) – Regional Level for the Communal Irrigation System category by the National Irrigation Administration (NIA) Region I.

As part of this prestigious recognition, the association received a Plaque of Recognition and cash for livelihood program assistance, further supporting programs and initiatives that will benefit its members and strengthen the agricultural sector.

𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 𝐌𝐀𝐅𝐂 𝐄𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧

The Municipal Agriculture Office successfully conducted the 2026 Municipal Agricultural and Fishery Council (MAFC) Election on July 17, 2026, ensuring a transparent, orderly, and democratic selection of the Council's new set of officers.

The election was conducted in accordance with the 2023 Guidelines on the Engagement of Consultative Bodies (GoECB) issued by the Philippine Council for Agriculture and Fisheries (PCAF). The process was supervised by the duly constituted Electoral Board and strictly followed the prescribed election procedures to uphold fairness, transparency, and credibility.

Eligible voters were composed of the official representatives of the Barangay Agricultural and Fishery Councils (BAFCs) and the authorized representatives of accredited organization-members of the MAFC. Through their votes, they elected the new leaders who will represent the agriculture and fisheries sector of Bacarra for the next three years.

The following officers were elected to serve for the 2026–2029 term:

• Chairperson: Romeo G. Llamelo
• Vice Chairperson: Edilberto John G. Ramos
• Secretary: Abelardo C. Magaoay
• Treasurer: Greg R. Galam
• Auditor: Estebenzon M. Padron
• Public Relations Officer (PRO): Ronald A. Aceret

The newly elected officers will serve a three-year term, taking on the responsibility of strengthening the partnership between farmers, fisherfolk, people's organizations, and the local government. They are expected to actively participate in agricultural and fisheries planning, policy recommendations, and the implementation of programs that promote sustainable agricultural and fisheries development in the municipality.
