Serbisyo ha Barangay Brings Government Services Closer to Lukay Residents
Barangay Lukay, January 30, 2026 โ Residents of Barangay Lukay benefited from the Serbisyo ha Barangay program conducted on January 30, 2026, bringing essential government services directly to the community. The activity was led through the initiative of Mayor Eleonor Lugnasin and Governor Jericho Petilla, in collaboration with the Municipal Council and various municipal and provincial government offices.
The program aimed to make public services more accessible and convenient for residents, particularly those who find it difficult to visit government offices. Several frontline services were made available during the activity.
Among the services offered by the Municipal Treasurerโs Office were the issuance of Community Tax Certificates (Cedula) and the tagging of business establishments. The Engineering Office facilitated the processing of building and electrical permit applications, while the Municipal Planning and Development Office issued zoning certifications required for such permits.
The Municipal Agriculture Office provided multiple services, including RSBSA registration, boat registration, geotagging, livestock and large cattle registration, and the distribution of seedlings, among others. Meanwhile, the Municipal Assessorโs Office assisted residents through the issuance of certified true copies of tax declarations, notices of assessment, building appraisals, and by answering inquiries related to the transfer of real property and issuance of new tax declarations.
Health-related services were also extended to the community through the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO), dental services, and eye check-ups, which included the distribution of free eyeglasses to qualified beneficiaries.
The successful implementation of the program was made possible through the strong leadership and support of Barangay Chairperson Hon. Jonalyn Cajefe, together with the Barangay Council, appointed barangay employees, Barangay Health Workers (BHWs), Barangay Tanods, and the entire Barangay Local Government Unit, who worked collectively to ensure the orderly and smooth conduct of the activity.
To further promote inclusivity and community engagement, interactive games and activities were held for both children and adults, with prizes distributed to participants. Free food, including lugaw, was also served to residents during the event.
Social Work interns from Leyte Normal University, currently assigned to Barangay Lukay, actively assisted in facilitating the activity to ensure its efficient and effective implementation.
The Serbisyo ha Barangay initiative reflects the local governmentโs unwavering commitment to accessible, responsive, and people-centered public service, reinforcing its goal of bringing government closer to the people.
