Empowering Barangay Governance Through Data!
The Barangay Secretaries of the Municipality of Aurora successfully participated in the Five-Day Training-Workshop on Empowering Barangay Governance Through Data: Barangay Information and Government System (BIGS), Barangay Information Management System (BIMS), and the Updating of the Comprehensive Barangay Juvenile Intervention Plan (CBJIP) held on July 13โ17, 2026, at Bay Plaza Hotel, Pagadian City.
The training strengthened the capacities of barangay officials and functionaries in developing evidence-based plans and utilizing digital governance tools to improve public service delivery. Throughout the five-day activity, participants gained valuable knowledge on the Comprehensive Barangay Juvenile Intervention Plan (CBJIP), including situational and causality analysis, theory of change, change strategies, results-based framework, and the preparation of annual work and financial plans. They also successfully finalized and presented their CBJIP outputs.
Participants were likewise equipped with practical skills in the Barangay Information Management System (BIMS) and Barangay Information and Government System (BIGS) through lectures, hands-on system installation, data encoding, report generation, troubleshooting, and records management exercises. The activity concluded with an orientation on the Seal of Good Local Governance for Barangays (SGLGB), reinforcing the commitment of barangays to transparency, accountability, and excellence in local governance.
