| EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 69-2026 - AN EXECUTIVE ORDER LIFTING THE SUSPENSION OF FACE‑TO‑FACE CLASSES FROM PRE‑SCHOOL TO SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL, BOTH IN PUBLIC AND PRIVATE EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS, EFFECTIVE SEPTEMBER 7, 2026, IN ATOK, BENGUET

Parents and guardians shall have the discretion to decide whether to send their children to school or not, provided that such decision is consistent with the provisions of DepEd Memorandum 2026.

All schools are directed to continue implementing appropriate learning modalities and safety measures to ensure the welfare of learners.

Learners, parents, and teachers are advised to exercise caution due to expected rain showers and possible flooding advisories from PAGASA.

Municipality of Atok, Benguet

#𝗠𝗔𝗬𝗣𝗔𝗦𝗢𝗞 | After careful assessment of the prevailing weather conditions and in coordination between the Local Chief Executive (LCE) and the Public Schools District Supervisor (PSDS), the suspension of face‑to‑face classes is hereby lifted for Elementary to Senior High School in both public and private schools effective August 26, 2026.

However, Pre‑School and Daycare classes remain suspended as a precautionary measure, given the continued risks and vulnerabilities of younger learners.

Schools are reminded to ensure readiness for resumption and to continue implementing alternative learning modalities for Pre‑School and Daycare learners in line with DepEd guidelines.

Lastly, parents and guardians are advised to prioritize the safety and well-being of their children or wards, especially when weather conditions or other circumstances pose potential risks or make it unsafe to travel or participate in activities.

Due to the continuous Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) and the approaching typhoon bringing heavy rainfall, strong winds, flooding, landslides, and unsafe road conditions, the Local Government of Atok, in coordination with the Public Schools District Supervisor (PSDS), has decided to extend the suspension of face‑to‑face classes from Pre‑School to Senior High School, both in public and private schools, on August 25, 2026.

This joint decision prioritizes the safety of learners, teachers, and school personnel amid the prevailing weather conditions and hazards.

Schools are directed to continue implementing alternative learning modalities in line with DepEd guidelines and to coordinate with the DepEd Division Office to ensure continuity of instruction and learner support.

In view of the continued heavy rainfall brought about by Tropical Storm Maymay and the Southwest Monsoon, and upon the recommendation of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC), work in government offices and classes at all levels in the National Capital Region and the provinces of Ilocos Sur, La Union, Benguet, Pangasinan, Abra, Zambales, Kalinga, Mountain Province, Ifugao, Ilocos Norte, Apayao, Nueva Vizcaya, Tarlac, Nueva Ecija, Bataan, Pampanga, Bulacan, Rizal, Cavite, Batangas, Laguna, and Occidental Mindoro are hereby suspended on 06 August 2026.

Agencies delivering essential and emergency services shall continue their operations. The suspension of work in private companies and offices is left to the discretion of their respective heads.

#𝗪𝗔𝗟𝗔𝗡𝗚𝗣𝗔𝗦𝗢𝗞 | Governor Dr. Melchor Daguines Diclas, through Executive Order No. 2026-55, has ordered the suspension of 𝗳𝗮𝗰𝗲-𝘁𝗼-𝗳𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗰𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝘁 𝗔𝗟𝗟 𝗟𝗘𝗩𝗘𝗟𝗦 (𝗽𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗰 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗲) across the Province of Benguet on 𝗧𝗵𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝗔𝘂𝗴𝘂𝘀𝘁 6, 2026, due to the effects of Tropical Storm "MAYMAY" (KUJIRA).

Residents are advised to remain vigilant, avoid non-essential travel, and monitor official weather advisories. For emergencies or weather-related concerns, please contact your respective Emergency Operations Centers (EOCs).

The Local Government Unit of Atok, through Municipal Mayor Hon. Franklin L. Smith, has issued an Executive Order No. 48 S. 2026, suspending Face-to-Face Classes from Pre-School to Senior High School, in both public and private schools in the Municipality of Atok, Benguet, on Thursday, August 6, 2026.

This is issued as a proactive measure to ensure the safety and well-being of learners due to the potential hazards posed by the cumulative effects of the previous rainfall brought about by Tropical Depression "Luis" within the Municipality, as well as the prevailing Tropical Storm "Maymay," which continues to affect the Municipality of Atok. Likewise, based on the latest forecast issued by DOST-PAGASA, intense to torrential rainfall is expected from today, August 5 to noon of August 6, 2026 in the Province of Benguet and that its forecast track indicates possible threats as it traverses the landmass of Northern Luzon today until tomorrow.

In the event that the Tropical Cyclone Wind Signals in Benguet or in Atok, Benguet are lifted thru the Bulletins being issued by the proper Agency, this Order will remain in effect for the date covered only.

✅The Local Government Unit of Atok reminds all constituents to remain indoors and avoid unnecessary travel and outdoor activities while the effects of Tropical Storm "Maymay" continue to affect the municipality.

✅Everyone is urged to remain vigilant for signs of possible landslides, such as ground movement, cracks on the ground or structures, tilting trees or posts, and other signs. If these warning signs are observed, immediately report them to the nearest Barangay Officials, Government Agencies (AMPS-PNP, BFP, MDRRMO), and evacuate promptly to a safe area when advised by authorities or when conditions warrant.
