"Empowering the Youth in their Resilience Against the Influence of Illicit drugs."

As a celebration for Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Week, Barkada Kontra Droga (BKD) held activities such as poster making, spoken poetry, and held a symposium on the prevention of illegal drugs.

This event is aimed to educate and inspire individuals, especially the youth, to make informed decisions and avoid the harmful effects of drugs.

During the symposium, experts shared valuable insights, including:

• The physical, mental, and social consequences of drug use.

• Strategies for resisting peer pressure and building resilience.

We are confident this event has made a positive impact on all students attendees. As we continue our mission to create a safer and healthier community, we encourage everyone to support this cause by spreading awareness and promoting a drug-free lifestyle.

📚 Symposium on Drug Prevention
Date: November 14, 2024
Time: 8:00 AM - 11:00 AM
Participants: Grades 7-10
Join us for an insightful discussion on drug prevention led by knowledgeable speakers. Let’s learn together about staying resilient and drug-free! 💪
🎨 Poster/Slogan Making Contest
Date: November 15, 2024
Time: 8:00 AM - 11:00 AM
Participants: Grades 7-10
Mechanics:
-Create an original poster with a slogan that promotes an anti-drug message.
-Materials (e.g., bond paper, colored pencils, markers) provided by participants and BKD Officers.
-Artwork must reflect the theme of a drug-free community.
-Time Limit: 3 hours

🎤 Spoken Poetry
Date: November 15, 2024
Time: 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM
Participants: Grades 7-10
Mechanics:
-Perform an original spoken poetry piece with an anti-drug theme.
-Each performance should be 2–3 minutes long.
-Language: Filipino
-Express yourself through words and inspire others to stand against drug abuse! 🗣️✨

With the guidance of their dedicated advisers, Sir Rommel Salva and Sir Rainiel Mark Altamira for BKD, along with BKD President Precious Ashanti Brequillo, and Ma'am Rizelle Parafina for YES-O, with YES-O President Amihan Martinez, the campaign aimed to encourage active student participation in these meaningful school programs .
