DTI QUEZON CONDUCTS PRICE MONITORING IN ATIMONAN, QUEZON
The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)–Quezon, through the Negosyo Center (NC)–Atimonan, conducted a price monitoring activity in selected grocery stores in the Municipality of Atimonan, Quezon on March 16–17, 2026. The activity aims to ensure that the prices of basic necessities and prime commodities remain fair, reasonable, and compliant with the suggested retail prices (SRP) set by the government.
The monitoring was led by Business Counselor Mr. John Angelo Mapalad, together with college interns Mr. Roy Jr. F. San Buenaventura from Leon Guinto Memorial College (LGMC) and Ms. Adaline Joy Dimaculangan from Quezonian Educational College Inc. (QECI). The team visited several establishments, including A.G. Caparros Mart and New Pag-asa S. Mart, both located in Barangay Zone 3 (Poblacion), Atimonan, Quezon.
During the monitoring activity, DTI inspected and documented the prevailing prices of selected basic necessities and prime commodities, comparing them with the current Suggested Retail Price (SRP) guidelines issued by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI). Store owners and personnel were likewise reminded of the importance of adhering to fair pricing policies and properly displaying price tags on their products to promote transparency for consumers.
This initiative is part of DTI’s ongoing efforts to safeguard consumer welfare, curb unjustified price increases, and encourage responsible business practices among local retailers. Through consistent price monitoring, the agency also reinforces its partnership with the local government and the Local Price Coordinating Council (LPCC) in maintaining price stability and ensuring that residents continue to have access to affordable essential goods within the community.
