HISTORICAL DATA:

UNIT - 60TH INFANTRY BATTALION, 10TH INF DIV, PA was organized on 01 December 1986 Pursuant To General Order number 402, H5ID, PA dated 27 Nov 1986. And the later transfer the unit to 3rd Infantry Bde, 7TH Infantry (KAUGNAY) Division, Philippine Army pur to GO nr 17, SECTION III, HPA dated 01 Aug 1988 which is station at Camp Servillano Aquino, San Miguel, Tarlac. 60IB again tr

ansferred to 4th Infantry (DIAMOND) Division, PA pur to GO nr 49, section 1, HPA dated 21 Jan 2004 station at Camp Evangelista, Cagayan De Oro City and again transfer to a new activated 10th Infantry (AGILA) Division, PA eff 16 Aug 2006, pur to GO nr 350, SECTION II, HPA dated 07 Aug 2006 which station at Camp Panacan, Davao City. The word "mediator" denotes the unit's role in the pursuit of government's objective of unity, peace and reconciliation. The white dove and green leaves represents love to the service, honesty, integrity and carrier of unity and peace, to fellowmen. The light green background symbolizes reliance, the round shield wherein the units name and the Philippine army are inscribed is symbolic of the glory and aspirations that remain aglow in the Filipino soldier's heart to preserve liberty, freedom and democracy in our country which is the army's primary and ultimate objective. III.CHANGES IN ORGANIZATION

The 60th infantry (mediator) Battalion was initially organized as a combat unit under 5th Infantry Division, Philippine Army and was formally activated on 01 December 1986 pursuant to GO 405, Hqs 5th Inf Div PA dated 27 November 1986. The unit was then assigned under the 5th Infantry Division, Philippine Army and later transferred to the newly organized 3rd Infantry Brigade (Separate), Philippine Army stationed at Camp Servillano Aquino, San Miguel, Tarlac pursuant to GO nr 17, section III, Hqs Philippine Army. On 15 January 2004 the unit was transferred to 4th Infantry (Diamond) Division, Philippine Army pursuant to GO nr 49, section 1, HPA dated 21 Jan 04 and act as the maneuver battalion of 404th Infantry (Pag-Asa) Brigade in part of the province of Compostela Valley, Davao Del Norte and Agusan Del Sur and then become OPCON to 401st Infantry (Unite N’ Fight) Brigade based at Brgy New Visayas, Sto Tomas, Davao Del Norte. On 16 august 2006, the unit was transferred to 10th Infantry (Agila) Division, Philippine Army pursuant to GO nr 350, section II, HPA dated 07 aug 06 and act as the main effort of 1001st Infantry (Pag-Asa) Brigade in clearing FC 33 with its AOR in the province of Compostela Valley And Davao Del Norte. The nucleus of personnel assigned to the Battalion came from the Civil Disturbance Company (CDC), the 1st Rifle Company and Bravo Coy, Headquarters service Battalion of the 5th Infantry Division that composed the Charlie Company, Alpha Company and Bravo Company respectively. The Headquarters Service Company personnel were completely filled up when NETRAC students undergoing schooling At Training Command, Philippine Army (TCPA) were issued orders assigning them to the unit under the verbal instruction of GENERAL RODOLFO CANIESO, who was the Commanding General, Philippine Army at that time. With the full support of no less than the Commanding General Philippine Army, the troop ceiling, equipment and armament of the unit was completely filled up before the retraining. After its retraining, the unit was dispatched to Bical, Munoz, Nueva Ecija to Relieve In Place the 14th Inf Bn on 28 January 1987. The 60th Infantry Battalion stayed in Nueva Ecija for almost eleven (11) months, thereafter, it move to Mayantoc, Tarlac to occupy the tri-boundaries of Tarlac, Pangasinan And Zambales in compliance to combat orders stipulated by Campaign Plan "UGNAYAN II " HQS 3RD INF BDE (S) PA, dated 08 October 1987 and IMPLAN "SKY LARK" of TCG dated 21 October 1987. It was the time that the 60th Inf Bn garnered the Best Maneuvering Battalion (NOLCOM 1988 -1989)

The unit transferred to Camp Bodonia, Malabobo, Pangasinan on 24 July 1990 and stayed there for almost eight (8) months and moved to Banayoyo, Ilocos Sur on 27 April 1991 to relieve - in place the 17th Inf Bn. It was placed under the operational control of the 701st Inf Bde, 7th Inf Div, Philippine Army on 01 April 1999 pursuant to GO nr 134, H7ID, PA

After staying in Banayoyo, Ilocos Sur for more than ten (10) months, the Battalion Hqs transferred to Brgy Gaddani, Tayum, Abra to join its line companies which where all located in Abra at that time. The unit then moved to Brgy Visaya, Vintar, Ilocos Norte on 27 April 1993 to relieve - in place the 73rd Inf Bn and stayed there for fourteen (14) months. The unit again transferred to second district of Ilocos Sur relieve - in place the 72nd Inf Bn and stayed there for almost ten (10) months. Due to OPLAN "Rigodon Alpha " of the 701st Inf Bde, the unit transferred to Abra on 25 march 1995 occupying its northeastern municipalities. The unit was barely two (2) months old in Abra when it was alerted to proceed to Fort Magsaysay, Nueva Ecija, for new mission. The unit refurbished and underwent the rapid deployment force (RDF) training. After two (2) months of training. The unit deployed in Zamboanga City on 18 August 1995 to relieve- in place 78th Inf Bn and stayed there for six (6) months. The unit again transferred to Carmen, North Cotabato on 12 february 1996 under the operational control of 602 Inf Bde, 6th Inf Div. Wherein the battle of MALMAR occurred and stayed for one (1) year and eleven (11) months. After successfully controlling the area, the unit again transferred in Compostela Valley Province and relieve in place the 29th Inf Bn on 20 January 1998 and returned to the operational control of 701st Inf Bde. The Bn then was based in So Pagakpak, Brgy Bongabong, Pantukan, Compostela Valley and afterwhich on 10 November 1998, the Battalion base was transferred to Pob Monkayo, then it was returned at So Pagakpak, Brgy Bongabong, Pantukan on 10 Jan 1999 then moved to Brgy Tuboran, Mawab on 08 September 1999 co-located with Hqs 701st Inf Bde and returned again to So Pagakpak Brgy Bongabong, Pantukan on 01 october 2000. On 01 October 2003, the Battalion was again moved and established a new Battalion base at So Quarry, Brgy Mapaang, Maco, Compostela Valley. When the Cadre Battalion was implemented, H404 Bde realigned the Battalion AOR and swapped the Battalion base with Hqs 72IB in Doña Andrea, Asuncion, Davao Del Norte on 01 October 2004 then transferred its Battalion MCP on 15 Sept 2008 at JBL Complex, Sto Niño, Talaingod, DDN while retaining camp morgia as unit rcp. On 21 oct 2008 the battalion mcp was again moved and established a new Main Command Post (MCP) at Sto Niño, Talaingod, DDN. After the national flagship program in the construction of Talaingod-Bukidnon road The Battalion Main Command Post returned its base to Dona Andrea, Asuncion, DDN on 01 November 2009. On 20 February 2014, as part of 1003rd Bde Main Effort the in clearing Paquibato district, Davao City, the Battalion deployed two (2) rifle companies; the Bravo and Charlie company and part of Task Group “QUEPEPA” at four Brgys in Upper Paquibato namely; Brgy Tapak, Colosas, Paradise Embac and Pandaitan to conduct Peace and Development Outreach Program (PDOP) in the said area. the battalion also established Advance Command Post (ACP) at Brgy Tulalian, Sto Tomas, DDN to monitor the activities in Paquibato. After four (4) months of successfully clearing upper Paquibato District , the Bravo and Charlie Company handover upper Paquibato district to 69IB and shift the clearing of Davao del Norte at Upper Kapalong, and San Isidro, DDN on 20 July 2014 then the battalion also established Advance Command Post (ACP) at Brgy Libuton, San Isidro, DDN to monitor and supervised the clearing operations in said area. On 10 December 2014, Charlie Coy, assumed the operational responsibility of Laak, CVP and released operational responsibility of municipality of Carmen , Sto Tomas, and B.E Dujali, all of Davao del Norte and handover the responsibility to 69IB effective 20 July 2014 and released the operational responsibility of eight (8) barangays of Tagum City namely; Barangay New Balanban, Magdum, San Agustin, Nueva Fuerza, La Filipina, Cambuagan, and Apokon to 1001st Bde. The Battalion had successfully cleared all affected barangays from CNN affectation by deployment of Peace and Development Teams (PDTs) and proper implementation of Peace and Development Outreach Program (PDOP) in the Barangays. The Battalion also normalized and handed-over the ISE lead role to Local Government Units by signing of Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) as peaceful and further development municipalities of B.E Dujali on 16 April 2015, New Corella on 29 April 2015, San Isidro on 27 July 2015, Asuncion on 29 July 2015, and Kapalong on 05 October 2015. Effective 10 October 2015, assumed the operational responsibility of the eight (8) Barangays of Tagum City.

In support of the Department of Education’s Brigada Eskwela 2026 with the theme, “Bayanihan sa Paaralan: Nagkakaisa Para sa Kaayusan at Kaalaman,” personnel of Bravo Company, 60th Infantry (MEDIATOR) Battalion, 10th Infantry Division, Philippine Army actively participated in school rehabilitation and preparation activities conducted on 01–03 June 2026 within its Area of Responsibility (AOR) covering Talaingod, Kapalong, and nearby areas in Davao del Norte.

Bravo Company, through its deployed teams and patrol base elements, supported Brigada Eskwela engagements in several educational institutions, including Kapalong Central Elementary School, Mesolong Elementary School, Napisulan Elementary School, Butay Integrated School, Cabadiangan Elementary School, Mangkay Integrated School, Aninipot Elementary School, Tibucag Elementary School, and Sua-on Elementary School, among others.
Activities were carried out in coordination with school administrators, teaching personnel, parents, barangay officials, and other community stakeholders, led by respective school heads and teachers-in-charge.

Deployed troops provided manpower assistance for school clean-up drives, minor repair works, maintenance activities, and general preparation of classrooms and school facilities in support of school readiness for the opening of classes.
In addition to physical support activities, Bravo Company also facilitated strengthened civil-military cooperation and stakeholder engagement in the course of its deployment, further enhancing coordination and rapport with partner schools and local communities.

The active participation of Bravo Company highlights the sustained commitment of the 60th Infantry (MEDIATOR) Battalion in supporting DepEd-led initiatives that promote education, community development, and youth empowerment. Beyond its core security functions, the unit continues to serve as a dependable partner in fostering safe, orderly, and conducive learning environments through sustained civil-military operations and collaborative community efforts.

Through shared responsibility and continued partnership, the 60th Infantry Battalion remains committed to contributing to resilient communities and supporting quality education within its Area of Responsibility.

In support of the Department of Education’s Brigada Eskwela 2026 with the theme, “Bayanihan sa Paaralan: Nagkakaisa Para sa Kaayusan at Kaalaman,” personnel of the Alpha Company, 60th Infantry (MEDIATOR) Battalion, 10th Infantry Division, Philippine Army actively participated in simultaneous school support and preparation activities conducted on 01–03 June 2026 within its Area of Responsibility covering Loreto, La Paz, and adjacent areas in Agusan del Sur.

Alpha Company units were deployed in multiple educational institutions to provide manpower assistance and support the implementation of Brigada Eskwela activities. Covered schools included Lope Cortes Elementary School (Brgy Valentina, La Paz, ADS), Waloe Elementary School (Brgy Waloe, Loreto, ADS), Kauswagan Elementary School (Brgy Kauswagan, Loreto, ADS), Cabuga Elementary School (Brgy Sta Teresa, Loreto, ADS), Sabud Elementary School (Brgy Sabud, Loreto, ADS), Binucayan National High School (Brgy Binucayan, Loreto, ADS), and Magaud National School (Brgy Magaud, Loreto, ADS), among others.

The conduct of activities was carried out in close coordination with school administrators, faculty members, and teaching personnel, headed by their respective school principals and school heads. Deployed troops provided manpower support for school clean-up operations, minor repair works, maintenance activities, and preparation of learning facilities to ensure the readiness of schools for the opening of classes.

In several areas, operations remained ongoing, reflecting sustained deployment and continuous coordination between Alpha Company elements and partner schools, local government units, and community stakeholders in support of Brigada Eskwela implementation.

The collective efforts of Alpha Company, 60IB underscore the Battalion’s continued support to DepEd-led education initiatives through structured civil-military operations, stakeholder engagement, and coordinated field deployment aimed at enhancing school readiness across its Area of Responsibility.

Beyond its security mandate, the 60th Infantry (MEDIATOR) Battalion remains committed to strengthening institutional partnerships with the education sector and local communities in advancing safe, clean, and conducive learning environments for learners throughout its Area of Responsibility.

In support of the Department of Education's Brigada Eskwela 2026 with the theme, "Bayanihan sa Paaralan: Nagkakaisa Para sa Kaayusan at Kaalaman," personnel of Charlie (CRAWLER) Company, 60th Infantry (MEDIATOR) Battalion, 10th Infantry Division, Philippine Army actively participated in simultaneous school rehabilitation and preparation activities conducted on 01–03 June 2026 throughout its Area of Responsibility (AOR) in Davao del Norte and Davao de Oro.

Under the leadership of company and patrol base personnel, Charlie Company troops supported Brigada Eskwela activities in various educational institutions, including Mesaoy National High School, LS Sarmiento Elementary School, Limbaan Elementary School, Datu Davao National High School, Andap Elementary School, Sta. Emelia Elementary School, Libuton Elementary School, San Antonio National High School, Kidawa National High School, Kibaguio Elementary School, Cabidianan Elementary School, Patrocenio Elementary School, Sonlon Elementary School, Camansa Elementary School, and New Visayas Elementary School.

The activity was conducted in close coordination with school administrators, faculty members, parents, barangay officials, indigenous peoples' leaders, and other stakeholders headed by their respective school principals and teachers-in-charge. Participating troops rendered manpower support for school clean-up, repair, maintenance, and beautification efforts to ensure the readiness of learning facilities for the opening of classes.

As part of its community outreach efforts, troops also conducted humanitarian activities including the provision of free haircut services, distribution of school supplies, hygiene kits, paint materials, nails, trash bins, and free arroz caldo for learners and community members. These initiatives reflect the Company's continuing commitment to supporting the welfare of the youth and strengthening its partnership with local communities.

The participation of Charlie Company underscores the continuing commitment of the 60th Infantry (MEDIATOR) Battalion in supporting government programs that promote education, community resilience, and youth development. Beyond its security mandate, the unit remains a proactive partner in creating a safe, conducive, and learner-centered environment through sustained civil-military operations and stakeholder collaboration.

Through collective action and shared responsibility, Charlie Company continues to contribute to the development of empowered communities and the advancement of quality education within its Area of Responsibility.

Philippine, Malaysian Armies Launch TA LAND MALPHI 24/2026 AT 10ID

MAWAB, Davao de Oro – The Philippine Army, through the 10th Infantry (Agila) Division, and the Malaysian Army formally launched the Training Activity (TA) LAND MALPHI 24/2026 during an opening ceremony presided over by Brigadier General Eufracio Joel Malig, Assistant Division Commander of the 10th Infantry (Agila) Division, at Headquarters, 10ID, Camp General Manuel T. Yan Sr., Brgy. Tuboran, Mawab, Davao de Oro, on June 1, 2026.

The 12-day bilateral exercise, scheduled from June 1 to 12, aims to strengthen defense cooperation, enhance interoperability, and improve battle staff planning capabilities through the exchange of best practices and operational experiences in territorial defense and security operations.

The activity features cross-training, tabletop exercises, and command post exercises designed to enhance combined operational effectiveness, strengthen professional competencies, and further deepen military-to-military relations between the Philippine and Malaysian armies.

The Malaysian Army delegation paid a courtesy call on Major General Alvin V. Luzon, Commander of the 10th Infantry (Agila) Division, highlighting the strong military-to-military ties and mutual commitment of both armies to strengthening defense cooperation.

A symbolic donning of caps and armbands highlighted the opening ceremony, signifying unity, operational readiness, and the enduring partnership among the participating forces.

Major General Luzon underscored the significance of the exercise, stating, “TA LAND MALPHI demonstrates our shared commitment to strengthening defense cooperation, enhancing interoperability, and building mutual trust among partner armed forces. Through engagements such as this, we develop capable and adaptive forces that contribute to territorial defense, regional security, and lasting stability in our region.”

TA LAND MALPHI serves as a vital platform for fostering mutual understanding, strengthening professional military relationships, and enhancing the collective readiness of both armies to address shared security challenges and contribute to peace and stability in the region.

On May 30, 2026, LTC Jesus L Rosete INF (GSC) PA, Commanding Officer of the 60th Infantry “Mediator” Battalion, together with CPT Kyle Broderick C Santos INF PA, CO, Bravo Company attended the Thanksgiving Ceremony of the Tatag IP Students Foundation, Inc. (TIPSFI) held at the Tatag IP Students Tourism Center, Purok 6A, Brgy. Sto. Niño, Talaingod, Davao del Norte.

Led by TIPSFI President Datu Allan L. Causing, the gathering stood as a meaningful tribute to the hard-earned achievements of TIPSFI’s scholars and graduates. It also reaffirmed the foundation’s enduring vision: to raise educated, transformed, and productive Ata Manobo youth who will grow into peacebuilders, responsible citizens, and capable leaders of their own communities.

The program featured messages of solidarity and support from local government officials, as well as special recognition for graduating scholars, honoring both their academic milestones and their promise as future pillars of the community. In a gesture of tangible care, food provisions and school supplies were also distributed, ensuring continued support for the scholars’ educational journey.

In his message of commitment and inspiration, LTC Rosete emphasized that education remains one of the most powerful tools in building lasting peace, inclusive development, and meaningful progress within indigenous communities. He urged the scholars to remain steadfast in their studies, to always honor the sacrifices of their parents and benefactors, and to use the opportunities entrusted to them as a means to lift up their families, their hometown, and their fellow Ata Manobo.

“Habang tinutupad ninyo ang inyong mga pangarap, huwag ninyong kalilimutan ang inyong pinagmulan. Gamitin ninyo ang inyong edukasyon hindi lamang para sa sariling tagumpay kundi para sa pag-unlad ng inyong pamilya, komunidad, at kapwa Ata Manobo. Saan man kayo dalhin ng buhay, alalahanin ninyo ang Talaingod at ang mga taong tumulong sa inyong pag-abot ng inyong mga pangarap. Kapag pinagpala kayo ng tagumpay, bumalik kayo upang magbahagi ng kaalaman, gabayan ang susunod na henerasyon, at maging mga transformational leaders na may integridad, malasakit, at pusong handang maglingkod sa bayan. Nasa inyong kamay ang kinabukasan ng Talaingod.” LTC Rosete stated

The 60th Infantry “Mediator” Battalion remains unwavering in its commitment to initiatives that advance education, empower indigenous youth, and strengthen partnerships that pave the way for sustainable peace and development across Talaingod. Demonstrating the true essence of compassion, service, and bayanihan, 34 personnel of this unit led by Captain Agumbay (QMS) PA, Headquarters Commandant, together with 14 personnel from Alpha Company, 1102nd Ready Reserve Infantry Battalion led by Lieutenant Benjie Pilo (RES) PA, Executive Officer, and members of the Asuncion Davao North Eagles Club, participated in the Bloodletting Activity held on May 27, 2026 at Davao del Norte Hospital - Kapalong Zone headed by Dr. Jessie T. Belga, Chief of Hospital.

Anchored on the theme “Blood for Life: Compassion in Action – Donate Blood, Restore Health, Save Lives,” the activity served as a meaningful reminder that even a single unit of blood can become a lifeline for patients battling illness, victims of emergencies, and individuals in critical need of medical care.

Beyond fulfilling duties in safeguarding communities, the participating troops and volunteers also embodied humanitarian service by willingly extending a part of themselves to help save lives. The activity highlighted the importance of unity among the Armed Forces, reserve units, civic organizations, and healthcare institutions in promoting public welfare and strengthening community resilience.

This initiative reflects the continuing commitment of all participating stakeholders to support life-saving programs and inspire a culture of volunteerism, empathy, and social responsibility. Through simple acts of generosity, hope is restored, lives are saved, and stronger bonds between the military and the community are built.

The 60th Infantry “Mediator” Battalion actively participated in the conduct of “Bangkasurero,” a clean-up drive and environmental protection activity held at Nabintad River, Brgy. Madaum, Tagum City on 26 May 2026, in celebration of the Month of the Ocean.

Carrying the theme, “Sustaining Ocean Health, Sailing a Resilient Nation,” the activity highlighted the importance of preserving marine and coastal ecosystems while strengthening inter-agency cooperation in environmental protection and biodiversity conservation.

Present during the activity were representatives from DENR-CENRO New Corella and PENRO Davao del Norte headed by Mr. Leonilo D. Durban, Forester III, CENRO New Corella; Engr. Vivian Bahalla, City ENRO of Tagum City; LTC TONY C. BUGAWAN INF (GSC) PA, Commander, 10th CMO Battalion; JO1 Bench John Francisquete of Tagum City Jail; PO2 Riverick B. Revira of the Philippine Coast Guard Tagum City; Hon. Leo C. Uy, Punong Barangay of Brgy. Madaum; and 2LT JEFFERSON JR P. MONTOYA (ART) PA, Scout Platoon Leader of the 60th Infantry Battalion.

During the activity, participants emphasized the significance of protecting and conserving marine and coastal resources to promote public health, environmental security, and community safety. Through proper resource management and heightened environmental awareness, collective action can help secure a safer and more sustainable future for the next generation.

As a result of the joint clean-up effort, a total of 66 kilograms of recyclable waste and 58.85 kilograms of residual waste were collected, segregated, and weighed by CENRO personnel.

The 60th Infantry “Mediator” Battalion remains steadfast in its commitment to serving the people not only through the preservation of peace and security, but also through active support for environmental conservation and sustainable development for future generations.

The 60th Infantry (Mediator) Battalion, Philippine Army, welcomed LTC Narinel G Solinar SC (GSC) PA, Commanding Officer of the 10th Signal Battalion, Signal Regiment, Philippine Army, during his courtesy visit to LTC Jesus L Rosete INF (GSC) PA at Headquarters, Camp Morgia, Doña Andrea, Asuncion, Davao del Norte.

Following the courtesy call, a Joint Opening Ceremony was conducted for the Basic Signal Platoon Enhancement cross-trained with Cyber Security Training and the Intel Collection cross-trained with Agent Handling Training participated in by 43 personnel from different units.

In his keynote message, LTC Solinar underscored the vital role of communication systems in modern military operations, emphasizing that reliable and secure communication remains the backbone of command and control, operational coordination, and mission accomplishment.

He further reminded the participants that as technology and cyber threats continue to evolve, soldiers must continuously strengthen their competencies not only in communication and intelligence operations but also in safeguarding critical information and systems.

The activity highlights the Philippine Army’s continuing commitment to developing adaptive, highly capable, and mission-ready personnel equipped with the necessary skills in communications, cyber security, intelligence gathering, and agent handling operations in support of peace and security efforts.
