This experience has taught us a lesson: celebration should never come at the expense of the peace, safety and well-being of our community.
Moving forward the Sangguniang Kabataan of Barangay Buan commits to:
Coordinate with the Barangay Council and concerned authorities before conducting similar activities;
Ensure that necessary processes and applicable requirements are properly observed;
Give proper consideration to the time, location and possible impact of activities on the community; and
Avoid surprise activities that may cause unnecessary fear or panic.
We cannot undo what happened that night. We can learn from it take responsibility and do better moving forward.
To everyone who was frightened disturbed or affected by the incident:

Thank you to everyone who brought their concerns to our attention. We hear you we respect your feelings. We will take this experience as a lesson, in becoming more responsible public servants and youth leaders.
