DILG Asturias MLGOO Dr. John Michael Monillas attended the separate meetings of the Municipal Development Council (MDC) and the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (MDRRMC) of the Municipality of Asturias in support of the continuous strengthening of local governance and public service delivery.

During the MDC meeting, discussions focused on the rollout and implementation of programs under the Local Government Support Fund (LGSF), ensuring that proposed initiatives are aligned with the development priorities of the municipality and responsive to the needs of the community.

Meanwhile, the MDRRMC meeting, DILG Asturias with the MSWDO relative to the discussions on volunteer registration advocated on the formulation of guidelines for the identification and selection of beneficiaries for various government assistance programs to promote transparency, fairness, and accountability in the distribution of aid.

The DILG remains committed to assisting the Municipality of Asturias in advancing responsive, inclusive, and people-centered governance.

Poblacion, Asturias — 𝗠𝗟𝗚𝗢𝗢 𝗗𝗿. 𝗝𝗼𝗵𝗻 𝗠𝗶𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗲𝗹 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗮𝘀 served as resource speaker during the Training on Barangay Nutrition Program Management (BNPM) at the Asturias Leisure Farms, Poblacion, Asturias, Cebu, where he discussed the roles and responsibilities of the Barangay Nutrition Council (BNC), including its vital function in advancing nutrition security and implementing nutrition-related programs at the barangay level.

The session, spearheaded by Municipal Nutrition Coordinator Ms. Daila Diana Aventuna, under the supervision of the Municipal Health Office, also highlighted the importance of the Barangay Nutrition Council Functionality Assessment as a tool in evaluating the effectiveness, coordination, and performance of barangays in delivering nutrition interventions and services to the community.

The seminar-workshop reinforces the commitment of partner agencies and barangays in promoting responsive and functional local nutrition governance for healthier and more resilient communities.

📍 ASTURIAS LGU HOLDS COORDINATION MEETING ON UPCOMING LGSF IMPLEMENTATION

LGU Asturias Mayor Dana Andrew M. Dumdum convened a coordination meeting in preparation for the implementation of programs under the Local Government Support Fund (LGSF). The meeting was facilitated by MLGOO Dr. John Michael Monillas focusing on implementation strategies, inter-office coordination, and monitoring mechanisms to ensure orderly and efficient program delivery.

Also present during the meeting were Vice Mayor Reine Yaras, MSWDO Marianee Gabriel, Budget Officer Novah Theresse Yanong, Municipal Accountant Evelyn Pantilgan, and Engr. Michelle Tundag, who discussed the respective responsibilities of their offices in relation to planning, documentation, monitoring, and compliance with national guidelines.

📍 ASTURIAS MATT ORIENTS PUNONG BARANGAYS ON TRANSITION GUIDELINES

The Municipality of Asturias, through its Municipal Assessment and Transition Team (MATT) chaired by Municipal Accountant Ms. Evelyn Pantilgan, convened a meeting and briefing with the Punong Barangays in preparation for the upcoming barangay inventory and subsequent transition activities.

DILG Asturias was present through MLGOO Dr. John Michael Monillas, who discussed the overview and salient provisions of DILG Memorandum Circular No. 2026-021. The orientation highlighted the roles, responsibilities, timelines, and documentary requirements relative to the transition process and the conduct of the initial inventory of barangay properties, records, documents, and finances.

The Punong Barangays were likewise guided on their preparations to ensure an orderly, transparent, and accountable turnover process in view of the upcoming barangay elections and assumption to office of incoming officials.

Ang ika-48 nga ASEAN Summit nga ipahigayon sa Mactan, Cebu karong Mayo 7–8 kay usa ka higayon sa garbo ug oportunidad alang sa tibuok Sugbo, dili lamang kini alang sa Dakbayan sa Lapu-Lapu isip host, kon dili alang usab sa matag dakbayan ug lungsod sa Metro Cebu. Ang pagdawat ug pag-host sa usa ka dako ug internasyonal nga kalihokan sama niini dili malikayan nga adunay mga temporaryong kausaban.

Ang mga organizers nagpatuman og mga lakang nga gikinahanglan ug angay lamang ipatuman, subay sa standard international security protocols nga gigamit usab sa matag nasud nga nag-abiabi og mga lider sa kalibutan.

Apil sa maong mga lakang ang pagsira sa pipila ka mga dalan ug mga kausaban sa lihok sa mga tawo ug sakyanan nga posibleng maghatag og temporaryong kakulian. Kining mga kontroladong lakang mahimo usab makaapekto sa operasyon sa mga establisimyento ug negosyo.

Ang mga lokal nga panggamhanan (LGUs) sa Metro Cebu nagtinabangay uban sa Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) ug Philippine National Police (PNP) aron masiguro nga ang maong mga kakulian mapugngan ug makontrol sa labing maayo ug organisadong pamaagi.

Busa, kami nagahangyo sa pagsabot ug pasensya sa publiko.

Ang tanang security arrangements alang sa ASEAN Summit gituyo ug gipahimutang aron mapanalipdan dili lamang ang atong mga bisitang lider kon dili usab ang kaayohan ug kaluwasan sa atong mga komunidad.

The Municipality of Asturias successfully convened its Municipal Assessment and Transition Team (MATT) meeting, spearheaded by its Chair, Municipal Accountant Ms. Evelyn Pantilgan, in line with ensuring an organized and seamless transition in view of the upcoming barangay elections and subsequent assumption to office of incoming officials.

2024 SGLG Incentive Fund Road Project Turned Over

The Municipality of Asturias proudly marks another milestone with the successful turnover of the 2024 Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) Incentive Fund Project—the completed Road Concreting in Sitio Tapon, Barangay Poblacion.

The ceremony was graced by DILG Cebu Provincial Director Dr. Jesus Robel Sastrillo Jr., who reaffirmed the Department’s commitment to strengthening local governance and delivering tangible benefits to communities. Representing the Local Government Unit of Asturias, Vice-Mayor Reine Yaras received the completed project on behalf of the municipality.
