The biodiversity of our planet relies on the small, overlooked, or seemingly powerless life-forms and species, and without them, our ecosystems would not be enriched nor be equipped with the ability to thrive.
Hummingbirds are the smallest bird on Earth and despite their size, the energy they harness purely through flight, is nothing short of incredible. Without them, the balance of our ecosystem would suffer.
A spider’s web is fragile on the surface, yet each thread is made up of thousands of nanostrands. If their size was that of a human, each web would be stronger than steel.
Moss are the oldest plants on Earth and although these sponges beneath our feet may seem unimportant, they are indicators of the air we breathe, protectors of soil, and are home for many small animals.
Each bee is a provider of stability for not only our ecosystems, but for our ability to survive as a species. They assist in the production of ⅓ of the world’s food supply and their acts of pollination and production keep balance in motion.
If these tiny expressions of nature are bearers of monumental, ecological impact, don’t we too, carry the potential for great change?
Inside each one of your cells is a breathing ecosystem, an entire galaxy in of itself. Within you is the encapsulation of Earth’s beginning, its evolution, its ever-growing story. We may seem insignificant in comparison to the scale of our universe, yet within the finest details of our biology lie vast universes themselves—carefully designed, and in nature’s truest expression.
No matter how small your act of kindness, your shift to wellness, or your vision for community may seem, it holds a critical role in today’s transforming world—Cherish it.
