The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) may implement Manual Load Dropping (MLD) for CAGELCO II Magapit-Zitanga-Lucban-Sanchez Mira 69kV Subtransmission Line today, May 15, 2026 (Friday) from 9:00 PM to 11:00 PM to maintain the integrity of the power system.

The affected areas are as follows:

CAGAYAN: Aparri West, Ballesteros, Dammang-Camalaniugan, Lasam, Allacapan, Abulug, Sanchez Mira, Claveria, Pamplona, Sta. Praxedes, Sto. Niño

APAYAO: Luna, Sta. Marcela, Flora, Pudtol, Calanasan (Sta. Elena, Sta Filomena)

Schedule may be cancelled if system condition improves, such as if actual demand falls below projections.

NGCP encourages everyone to exercise prudence in using electricity.

Please be informed that the NGCP Scheduled Power Interruption on May 17, 2026 (Sunday) has been CANCELLED and RESCHEDULED to June 9, 2026 (Tuesday), 6:30 AM - 4:30 PM due to the frequent Manual Load Dropping (MLD) within Cagayan Valley area.

AFFECTED AREAS:
Entire CAGELCO II coverage area

To conduct maintenance works along the line

CAGELCO II shall continue to monitor the power situation in the coverage area, and should the circumstances so require by NGCP, additional areas shall be subjected to Load Dropping to stabilize the supply. In such case, the areas scheduled for the succeeding day shall likewise experience power interruption.

Ang ibig sabihin ng yellow alert ay manipis na ang reserbang kuryente sa grid.

Kapag Red Alert naman, wala ng reserbang kuryente sa grid na pwedeng mauwi sa brownout.

Di pa alam ng NGCP ang dahilan ng pagbagsak ng Luzon grid sa Yellow at Red Alert sa mga susunod na oras!

NARARANASANG POWER FLUCTUATIONS SA CAGAYAN, DULOT NG MABABANG BOLTAHE MULA SA NGCP

Nakararanas ngayon ng power fluctuations ang ilang bahagi ng Cagayan na sakop ng CAGELCO 1 at II dahil sa unstable power supply mula sa National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP), ayon sa mga electric cooperative sa lalawigan.

Sa hiwalay na pahayag ng dalawang electric cooperative, kanilang ipinaliwanag na ang nararanasang pabago-bagong daloy ng kuryente ay dulot ng maintenance activity ng NGCP at mataas na demand sa kuryente.

Dahil dito, nakararanas ang ilang lugar ng paghina ng suplay at posibleng pagkawala ng kuryente dahil sa mahinang boltahe na pumapasok sa mga substation, dahilan upang kusang mag-trip ang mga feeder bilang proteksIyon sa mga linya ng kuryente.

Sa ngayon, nakaantabay ang mga electric cooperative sa sitwasyon habang patuloy na mino-monitor ang daloy ng kuryente at hinihintay ang karagdagang abiso mula sa NGCP kung kailan tuluyang maibabalik sa normal ang suplay ng kuryente.

Paliwanag ng mga ito, wala silang kontrol sa sitwasyon dahil umaasa lamang sila sa suplay mula sa NGCP

Hinikayat din ng mga ito ang publiko na magtipid sa paggamit ng kuryente upang maiwasan ang karagdagang aberya sa power system. (Jovy Andres)
