The Department of Tourism (DOT) Region 2 conducted a site assessment in Aparri, Cagayan for the development of Endless Fun Cagayan: Your NEXpedition, highlighting the rich cultural heritage, historical landmarks, and tourism potential of Northeastern Cagayan. The site visit includes:

• Aparri Welcome Arch
• Aparri-Camalaniugan Bridge
• Cagayan River Cruise
• Punta Pier and Dried Fish Stalls
• PAGASA Weather Radar Station
• Lyceum of Aparri Ecclesiastical Museum
• St. Peter Thelmo Church (Archdiocesan Shrine of Our Lady of the Rosary)
• Aparri Public Park

APARRI, YOUR NEXPEDITION!!!

Mainit na tinanggap ng Pamahalaang Bayan ng Aparri ang mga kinatawan mula sa Department of Tourism (DOT) Region 02, mga tourism stakeholders ng Cagayan, at iba’t ibang tour operators sa isinagawang tourism familiarization tour na may temang “Aparri, Your Nexpedition.”

Pinangunahan ni Tourism Operations Officer Romeo G. Caranguian ng Department of Tourism Region 02 at Christine Joyce R. Soriano ang Project Officer of NEXpedition Tourism Circuit kasama ang Cagayan Tourism Office ang nasabing aktibidad kasama ang mga tourism partners at tour operators mula sa iba’t ibang bahagi ng lalawigan.

Layunin ng aktibidad na maipakita at maipakilala ang mga pangunahing atraksyon ng Aparri bilang isa sa mga umuusbong na destinasyon ng turismo sa Hilagang Luzon. Tampok sa itinakdang ruta ang:

•Aparri Welcome Arch
•Cagayan Ecclesiastical Museum sa loob ng Lyceum of Aparri
•River Cruise mula Toran Wharf patungong Aparri-Camalaniugan Bridge hanggang sa
•Port of Aparri, na sinabayan ng makulay na pagtatanghal ng
•Aramang Festival Dancers mula sa Aparri School or Arts and Trades (ASAT)
•St. Thelmo Parish Church (Archdiocesan Shrine of our Lady of the Rosary), at ang tanyag na
•Ammaleran Beach sa Barangay Dodan, na nagpapakita ng mayamang kultura, kasaysayan, at likas na kagandahan ng bayan ng Aparri. At nagkaroon din ng isang pagtitipon sa Hotel Dian para sa isang di malilimutang gabi ng saya at awitan.

Dumalo sa aktibidad sina SB Member Dian Jaycerette Dayag (Committee Chairperson on Tourism) at bilang kinatawan ni Mayor Dominador “Ambo” Dayag, Tourism Officer Marilou Cabauatan, at mga TWG ng Aparri Tourism Council bilang suporta sa patuloy na pagsusulong ng turismo sa bayan.

Sa pamamagitan ng ganitong mga programa at pakikipagtulungan sa iba’t ibang tourism stakeholders, patuloy na pinapalakas ng Aparri ang industriya ng turismo habang itinatampok ang lokal na kultura, kasaysayan, at likas-yamang maipagmamalaki ng bayan.

Successfully Conducted: FREE Cervical & Breast Cancer Screening

The Municipality of Aparri, through the Local Government Unit together with MHO East and MHO West, successfully conducted the FREE Cervical and Breast Cancer Screening Program for women aged 30 years old and above at Aparri Public Gymnasium.

This initiative aims to promote women’s health awareness and encourage the early detection and prevention of cervical and breast cancer.

The activity was conducted in partnership with the doctors and specialists from Cagayan Valley Medical Center, with the support of:

• The Society of Gynecologic Oncologists of the Philippines (Foundation), Inc.
• The Philippine Society for Cervical Pathology and Colposcopy
• Philippine Obstetrical and Gynecological Society

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all the women who participated, as well as to our medical teams, partners, and organizers who helped make this program a success. Together, we continue to prioritize the health and well-being of every Aparriano.

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), led by Undersecretary Mary Jean T. Pacheco together with Regional Director Maria Sofia Narag and Provincial Director Mary Ann Copuz-Dy, and 3rd District Board Member Atty. Jojo Caronan personally visited the Port of Aparri in line with plans to expand trade and strengthen economic opportunities in the region.

Meanwhile, Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Rex Gatchalian, together with Regional Director Lucia S. Alan and the DSWD delegation, were warmly welcomed by the Local Government Unit of Aparri, led by Mayor Dominador “Ambo” Dayag, together with Lal-lo Vice Mayor Olive Pascual, Tuguegarao City Mayor Maila Ting-Que, Gonzaga Mayor Rellie Dalmaceda, Governor Edgar “Manong Egay” Aglipay, Vice Governor Manuel Mamba, and Cagayan 1st District Representative Ramon Nolasco Sr.

The Emergency Cash Transfer (ECT) Payout was also conducted to provide financial assistance to farmers affected by the severe drought in the Municipality of Aparri and nearby towns.

These visits and initiatives reflect the government’s continued commitment to economic development, social assistance, and stronger support for the people of Cagayan.
