𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤, 𝐜𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐬 𝐬𝐮𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐝 𝐢𝐧 𝐍𝐂𝐑, 𝟏𝟔 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐬 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝟏 𝐩.𝐦. 𝐅𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐲

Work in government offices and classes at all levels in public and private schools in the National Capital Region and 16 provinces will be suspended starting 1 p.m. today, August 28, 2026, due to the expected further enhancement of the Southwest Monsoon by a Low-Pressure Area that has entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility.

Under Memorandum Circular No. 132, issued by Executive Secretary Ralph G. Recto upon the recommendation of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC), the suspension covers the following areas:

Abra
Benguet
Ilocos Sur
La Union
Pangasinan
Bataan
Bulacan
Nueva Ecija
Pampanga
Tarlac
Zambales
Batangas
Cavite
Rizal
Oriental Mindoro
Occidental Mindoro

Government agencies providing basic and health services, disaster preparedness and response, and other vital services will continue to operate.
Local chief executives may also suspend classes and/or work in government offices in their respective areas.
In the private sector, the suspension of work or adoption of alternative work arrangements will be left to management.

Ang kanyang buhay ay paalala na ang tunay na pagmamahal sa bayan ay nasusukat sa tapang na manindigan, malasakit sa kapwa, at kahandaang magsakripisyo para sa kinabukasan ng sambayanan.

Nawa’y patuloy nating isabuhay ang kanyang iniwang aral at paninindigan para sa isang mas makatarungan at malayang Pilipinas.

ALTERNATIVE WORK ARRANGEMENTS FOR GOVERNMENT OFFICES, ALTERNATIVE LEARNING MODES FOR SCHOOLS ON AUGUST 20

Pursuant to Memorandum Circular No. 131, government offices are directed to implement appropriate alternative work arrangements in the National Capital Region and the following provinces on August 20, 2026:

📍 Ilocos Norte
📍 Ilocos Sur
📍 La Union
📍 Pangasinan
📍 Bataan
📍 Bulacan
📍 Nueva Ecija
📍 Pampanga
📍 Tarlac
📍 Zambales
📍 Batangas
📍 Cavite
📍 Laguna
📍 Rizal
📍 Occidental Mindoro

Unless otherwise directed by their respective Local Chief Executives, alternative learning modes for classes and learning continuity measures at all levels in public and private schools shall be implemented in the aforementioned areas.

Agencies involved in the delivery of basic and health services, disaster preparedness and response, and other vital services shall continue their operations and render the necessary services.

Contract of Service (COS) and Job Order (JO) workers placed under alternative work arrangements shall be paid their corresponding wages or salaries, subject to applicable rules and regulations.

The suspension of work or adoption of alternative work arrangements in the private sector shall be left to the discretion of management.

Sa kabila ng suspensyon ng trabaho, dumalo pa rin tayo sa ating regular na sesyon upang gampanan ang tungkulin at matiyak na nagpapatuloy ang serbisyo ng Sangguniang Panlungsod para sa ating mga kababayan.

Dahil sa pinakahuling PAGASA weather forecast, kung saan masamang panahon ang inaasahan dahil sa Habagat at posible pang ma-enhance ng Bagyong , WALANG PASOK ang FACE-TO-FACE CLASSES sa LAHAT ng LEVELS, sa PUBLIC at PRIVATE SCHOOLS sa Antipolo BUKAS, August 19, 2026 (Wednesday).

👉 Shift muna tayo sa alternative delivery modes tulad ng online, modular, o hybrid learning.

Paalala lang din po: ang weather forecast ay pagtataya at hindi exact science. Posibleng magbago ang sitwasyon at hindi laging eksaktong nagtutugma ang forecast sa actual na lagay ng panahon.

Katulad na lang kagabi, kung saan nagdeklara ang PAG ASA na magiging masama ang panahon ngayong araw... at sinundan pa mismo ng Malacañang ng suspension ng pasok sa mga tanggapan ng Pamahalaan pero naging maayos naman ang panahon ngayong araw.

Kaya maging handa palagi, lalo na’t unpredictable ang panahon ngayong may global warming at El Nino.

We condemn violence in the strongest possible terms.

The recent mass shooting is a painful reminder that behind every life lost is a family, a loved one, and a community left to grieve.

As a public servant, I believe that protecting lives and keeping our communities safe must always be among our highest priorities. No anger, conflict, or grievance can ever justify senseless violence.

My deepest condolences to the victims and their families. I pray for those who were injured and for everyone affected by this tragedy.

Let us stand together against violence and continue to choose compassion, responsibility, peace, and respect for every human life.

May justice prevail, and may healing come to all those who are grieving.
