FREE resources for Filipino Childrens' Books online. I personally checked these resources and the Childrens' books are available in different formats - PDF download, audio, or read-along videos. Each of these resources have very rich collections of books ideal for younger readers. Check out the Bloom Digital Library, they even have books in local languages such as Hiligaynon and others. 📚 Before you blame the teachers… check the screens.

It’s easy to point fingers when children struggle with reading and writing.
But let’s be honest — the issue often runs deeper than the classroom.

These days, many young learners spend more time on screens than with books.
And yes — too much screen time in the early years isn’t harmless.
It impacts focus. It affects language development.
It dulls the skills that reading and writing require: patience, imagination, and deep thinking.

Teachers are doing their part.
But what happens after school matters just as much as what happens inside it.

So before we blame the education system,
let’s also ask:
🔍 How many hours is my child on YouTube, games, or TikTok?
📖 When was the last time we read together?
💬 How often do we talk without a device between us?

Because literacy doesn’t start with worksheets.
It starts at home — with connection, curiosity, and limits that protect their growing minds.

Let’s raise readers, not just screen scrollers. 💛

Ngayong umiinit na ang panahon, palagi na naman nating nakikita ang terminong 'heat index'. Ano nga ba ang pinagkaiba nito sa temperatura at bakit ito mahalaga? Alamin natin!

Ang 𝗛𝗘𝗔𝗧 𝗜𝗡𝗗𝗘𝗫 ay ang aktwal na 𝗻𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗱𝗮𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘁 ng katawan kapag isinama na ang epekto ng halumigmig (humidity) sa temperatura ng hangin. Ang pagtaas halumigmig ay nagdudulot ng mas mataas at delikadong heat index, kahit na hindi pa ganoon kataas ang temperatura.

Kapag mataas ang halumigmig o dami ng water v***r sa hangin, 𝗺𝗮𝘀 𝗵𝗶𝗿𝗮𝗽 𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗸𝗮𝘁𝗮𝘄𝗮𝗻 𝗻𝗮 𝗺𝗮𝗴𝗽𝗮𝘄𝗶𝘀 𝗮𝘁 𝗺𝗮𝗴𝗽𝗮𝘁𝘂𝘆𝗼 𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗼 kaya mas nagiging mainit at maalinsangan ang pakiramdam. Kapag lumala pa ang heat index, maaaring magresulta ito sa pag-'overheat' ng katawan na mauuwi sa iba't ibang kumplikasyon.

Ang heat index na 27-32°C ay makokonsidera nang 'CAUTION' at habang tumataas ay mas nagiging matindi ang epekto sa katawan, lalo na kung magpapagod sa ganoon kaalinsangang panahon. 𝗔𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗸𝗮𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗮𝘀 𝗻𝗮 𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗲𝗹 𝗮𝘆 '𝗘𝗫𝗧𝗥𝗘𝗠𝗘 𝗗𝗔𝗡𝗚𝗘𝗥' kung saan ang heat index ay 52°C at higit pa na mataas na ang tiyansa ng heatstroke.

𝗧𝗔𝗡𝗗𝗔𝗔𝗡: Ang heat index na nabanggit ay ang inaasahang alinsangan kapag nasa silong (shade). 𝗞𝘂𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝗮𝗴𝗯𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗮𝗱 𝘀𝗮 𝗮𝗿𝗮𝘄𝗮𝗻 𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗴𝗮𝗹, 𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝗮 𝟵°𝗖 𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴 𝗱𝗮𝗴𝗱𝗮𝗴 sa nabanggit na heat index ang mararanasan.

Ang 𝗣𝗔𝗚𝗔𝗦𝗔-𝗗𝗢𝗦𝗧 ay naglalabas ng naitalang heat index sa iba't ibang mga istasyon ng ahensya at ang forecast ng heat index para sa susunod na dalawang araw tuwing 5:00 PM: https://www.pagasa.dost.gov.ph/weather/heat-index
