OBJECTIVES:
Specifically, the Library and Information Center seeks to:

1. Equip the library with quality sources of information and qualified personnel to meet the community's educational, research, information, cultural and recreational needs.

2. Bring knowledge and information in the community up to the barangay level.

3. Conduct events to promote the importance of library, reading and information literacy, self-development and lifelong learning.

💻📚 𝗘𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗱𝗶𝗴𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘆!

𝘈𝘯𝘨𝘦𝘭𝘦𝘴 𝘊𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘓𝘪𝘣𝘳𝘢𝘳𝘺 𝘏𝘰𝘭𝘥𝘴 𝘚𝘦𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘥 𝘘𝘶𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘉𝘢𝘴𝘪𝘤 𝘊𝘰𝘮𝘱𝘶𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘚𝘬𝘪𝘭𝘭𝘴 𝘛𝘳𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘧𝘰𝘳 2026, reaffirming its commitment to promoting digital literacy and lifelong learning within the community.

This quarterly training program is implemented by the Angeles City Library in partnership with the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), providing participants with essential computer knowledge and practical digital skills. Each quarter, subject specialists from the City College of Angeles (CCA) generously share their expertise to help empower various sectors of society through technology education.

For today’s session, the participants included barangay workers from 𝗕𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗮𝘆 𝗦𝘁𝗼. 𝗖𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗼 led by 𝗛𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗿𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗕𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗮𝘆 𝗖𝗮𝗽𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗟𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗱𝗲𝘀 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗮𝗹𝗮, as well as officers and members of the 𝗟𝗚𝗕𝗧𝗤𝗜𝗔++ 𝗦𝘁𝗼. 𝗖𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗼 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗿. Their active participation contributed to a productive and engaging learning environment.

Serving as subject specialists for the training were 𝗠𝗿. 𝗝𝗼𝘀𝗵𝘂𝗮 𝗕𝗮𝗯𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗮 and 𝗠𝗿. 𝗥𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗹 𝗖𝘂𝘆𝘂𝗴𝗮𝗻 from the 𝗖𝗖𝗔 - 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘂𝘁𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗟𝗶𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗜𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲. They were ably assisted by their student interns, 𝗕𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗔𝗱𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗻𝗲 𝗟. 𝗣𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗰𝗼 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗜𝘃𝗮𝗻 𝗥𝗼𝗱𝗴𝗲 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗼𝘀𝗼, whose support greatly contributed to the success of the activity.

The Basic Computer Skills Training Program continues to reach diverse sectors of the community, including senior citizens, persons with disabilities (PWDs), transport drivers, barangay workers, members of the LGBTQIA++ community, and other interested groups, ensuring that digital learning opportunities remain accessible and inclusive for all.

The Angeles City Library extends its sincere gratitude to all participants, speakers, and partners for their valuable contributions and continued support of this meaningful initiative. Special appreciation is likewise extended to 𝗛𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗿𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝘆𝗼𝗿 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗲𝗹𝗼 “𝗝𝗼𝗻" 𝗕. The Angeles City Library and Information Center is deeply grateful for the opportunity to conduct this special learning activity for our Persons with Disabilities community — individuals who continue to inspire us with their determination, enthusiasm, and willingness to learn despite the challenges they may face. Today’s session of the Basic Computer Training was truly meaningful and inspiring.

Throughout the training, our participants showed active participation, attentiveness, and genuine eagerness to acquire new knowledge and skills in today’s rapidly advancing technological world. Beginning with basic computer literacy may seem simple to some, but for many of our attendees, it represents courage, growth, empowerment, and a meaningful step towards greater digital inclusion and opportunity.

We sincerely commend and thank all our participants for stepping out of their comfort zones, and showing positive attitude towards learning. Their perseverance and initiative remind us that education and technology should always be accessible to everyone.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to 𝗠𝗿. 𝗥𝘆𝗮𝗻 𝗖. 𝗗𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗱 Disability Affairs Officer IV of the Persons with Disability Affairs Office (PDAO) of Angeles City, for positively responding to our invitation and continued support to programs like this that promote empowerment and inclusivity.

Thursday, November 20, 2025 was a heartwarming day at the Angeles City Library as representatives from SM City Clark visited to personally turn over their generous book donation. The Angeles City Library is among the selected public libraries nationwide chosen as beneficiaries of the SM Cares Foundation’s Book Donation Drive—an initiative that continues to inspire a culture of reading and community support.

Sir Dean and Miss Mica from SM City Clark’s Marketing and Operations Department respectively, arrived with more than a thousand volumes of pre-loved books, including general references, leisure reading materials, and textbooks. Their visit filled the library not just with boxes of books, but with genuine smiles, shared purpose, and a renewed sense of partnership for learning.

In gratitude, the Angeles City Library—together with the Angeles City Local Government—presented a Certificate of Appreciation to the SM Cares Foundation, acknowledging their meaningful contribution to the city’s ongoing efforts to promote literacy and lifelong learning.

The moment captured in the photos reflects the spirit of community: organizations, individuals and the government coming together to support education, empower readers, and make knowledge more accessible to Angeleños of all ages.
