JULY 13, 2020
COMPOSTING AT HOME
Materials: large plastic bin with lid, such as 12-gallon storage bin or trash can/ large plastic bottle, any object used to create holes, shredded newspaper, soil, dried leaves and/or pine needles. food scraps, water
Procedure:
Create 8-10 holes about 1-2 inches apart in the bottom of the bin, and four holes on each side of the bin.
Put the shredded newspaper into the bin, filling it up one-fourth of the way.
Add soil until the bin is halfway full. Top the soil with a layer of dried leaves.
Bury food scraps a little ways into the brown material.
Spray the compost with just enough water to get things damp but not soaking wet. Put the lid on.
Note: You can add and bury more compostable food scraps every week. After a month, it will be ready for to be used in your garden.

Campaign for animals
Materials: video editing application on phone or laptop
Procedure:
Create and reflect on the current situation of wildlife and animals across the globe.
Write down your script for the short video campaign you would like to create to preserve wildlife and animals rights.
Take the video using your phone or laptop.
Make the necessary changes like transitions, text designs, etc.
Post in your social media account.

ECOBRICKS
Materials: clean plastic bottle, soft and hard plastics, sturdy stick, scissors
Procedure:
Save, segregate, clean & dry plastics.
Cut the hard plastics such as plastic wrappers into shreds.
Put the soft plastics such as the plastic bags at the bottom.
Fill the bottle up half way with loose plastic, then use your stick to push down around the sides of the bottle. Keep pushing down as you move around the circumference of the bottle.
Make sure that the ecobrick brick is hard and with no loose space. Once done, put back the lid and set the ecobrick aside until you have reached your desired number to create an ecobrick project.

ROCK PAPERWEIGHTS
Materials: smooth rock, acrylic craft paint, craft sealer or varnish (we used a matte finish),paint brushes
Procedure:
Clean and dry the rock/s.
Choose a base-colour for his or her rock. Apply the base colour and let it dry.
When dry, create desired designs on the rock using other paint colors.
When the finished rocks are completely dry, give them a coat or two of craft varnish/sealer.

VISION BOARD
Materials: illustration board, magazines, newspapers, print outs, glue, scissors, coloring materials
Procedure:
Cut photos which represent your vision for your self.
Glue them to the illustration board.
Write or cut out messages which you think empower you to strive more and glue them to the board.
Incorporate designs of your choice.
Display it an area of your home/room which you always see to remind you of your vision.
