SEPTEMBER 22, 2026 │ BPLO: Strengthening Commitment to ARTA Compliance

The Business Permit and Licensing Office (BPLO), together with Local Chief Executive Hon. Elpidio R. Rendon, Department Heads, and concerned personnel, participated in the exit conference conducted by the Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA) North Luzon Field Office.

The activity provided an opportunity to review assessment findings, address key observations, and reinforce the LGU’s commitment to full compliance with the Ease of Doing Business and Efficient Government Service Delivery Act.

BPLO remains dedicated to upholding ARTA standards by streamlining business registration and renewal processes to deliver faster, transparent, and hassle-free services to taxpayers and local entrepreneurs.

KAILANGAN PA BA AKONG KUMUHA NG BUSINESS PERMIT KAHIT NAPAKALIIT LANG NAMAN NG AKING NEGOSYO?

OO. Sa pangkalahatan, kailangan pa ring kumuha ng Business Permit (Mayor’s Permit) at kaukulang Barangay Business Clearance kahit maliit pa lamang ang iyong negosyo, dahil kinakailangan ang mga ito upang legal na makapag-operate ng negosyo sa loob ng lungsod o munisipalidad.

Legal Basis:

1. Section 152, Republic Act No. 7160 (Local Government Code of 1991) – nagbibigay ng kapangyarihan sa barangay na mag-isyu ng business clearances at maningil ng kaukulang fees.

2. Sections 444(b)(3)(iv) at 455(b)(3)(iv), Republic Act No. 7160 – nagbibigay ng kapangyarihan sa municipal at city mayors na mag-require at mag-isyu ng business permits para sa mga negosyong nag-ooperate sa kanilang nasasakupan.

READ | DTI warns the public against uncertified FLAVA products
The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) warns consumers against FLAVA, also marketed as XFLAVA, products being heavily promoted online, clarifying that these items are smuggled, uncertified and unauthorized for sale or distribution.

The DTI urges consumers to remain vigilant and avoid purchasing or using FLAVA or XFLAVA products, as they have not undergone Philippine Standard (PS) certification in accordance with applicable technical regulations and product standards. Uncertified products may contain harmful substances, including potentially toxic levels of chemicals such as formaldehyde, which may pose risks to consumer health and safety. Consumers are therefore advised to exercise caution and purchase only products that comply with Philippine laws and regulations.

The sale, distribution and promotion of uncertified vaporized ni****ne and non-ni****ne products may constitute violations of the Republic Act No. 11900, or Vaporized Ni****ne and Non-Ni****ne Products Regulation Act, and its implementing rules and regulations.
