CONDUCTED FIRE SAFETY EDUCATION IN SCHOOL

Almeria Fire Station, Biliran – Under the supervision of SFO3 Dennis A Canonoy, Officer-In-Charge, Municipal Fire Marshal, personnel of Almeria Fire Station conducted a Fire Safety in Schools activity at Almeria Central School, with the assistance of our friendly Fire Dogs, bringing fun and meaningful learning experiences to the students.

As part of the activity, fire safety awareness messages were shared to educate children on the importance of fire prevention, identifying potential hazards, and knowing the proper actions to take during emergencies.

To further enhance their learning and creativity, the students were provided with Fire Safety Coloring Booklets, enabling them to enjoy interactive activities while reinforcing essential fire safety lessons.

Through engaging and child-friendly approaches, Almeria Fire Station remains committed to instilling the value of fire safety among the youth and promoting a culture of preparedness within the community.

A DAY IN A LIFE OF A FIREFIGHTER

To ensure the fire station’s continuous operational readiness and capability to respond swiftly to emergencies, the Fire Truck Operator FO3 Bacalando performed a preventive maintenance inspection on the fire apparatus. During the inspection, corrosion was discovered on the battery terminals, which could potentially compromise the vehicle’s starting system and overall reliability. Recognizing the importance of having fully functional emergency equipment at all times, the Fire Truck Operator immediately replaced the corroded battery terminals, cleaned the battery connections, and verified the integrity of the electrical system. This proactive maintenance activity helps guarantee that the fire truck remains in peak operating condition and ready for immediate deployment, ensuring uninterrupted emergency response services to the community whenever needed.
