🌟 𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐌𝐔𝐍𝐈𝐓𝐘 𝐖𝐀𝐋𝐊 𝐋𝐀𝐔𝐍𝐂𝐇𝐈𝐍𝐆 & 𝐇𝐈𝐕/𝐀𝐈𝐃𝐒 𝐂𝐀𝐍𝐃𝐋𝐄𝐋𝐈𝐆𝐇𝐓𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐂𝐄𝐑𝐄𝐌𝐎𝐍𝐘 🌟

The Alegria Rural Health Unit (RHU) successfully conducted the Community Walk Launching and HIV/AIDS Candlelighting Ceremony at the Alegria Municipal Lobby as part of the Municipality’s continuing commitment to health promotion, wellness, and HIV/AIDS awareness and advocacy.

The activity was attended by various community stakeholders, including Barangay Officials, Barangay Health Workers (BHWs), Barangay Nutrition Scholars (BNS), Women’s Associations, Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) personnel, Philippine National Police (PNP) personnel, Philippine Coast Guard and Maritime personnel, community volunteers, and other health advocates, demonstrating a united effort toward building a healthier and more informed community.

The Community Walk Launching promotes the importance of regular physical activity and encourages community members to adopt healthier lifestyles through walking and other wellness practices. It serves as a reminder that simple daily habits can contribute significantly to better health and overall well-being.

Following the community walk, participants gathered for the HIV/AIDS Candlelighting Ceremony, a meaningful tribute honoring individuals affected by HIV/AIDS. The ceremony highlighted the importance of awareness, prevention, education, compassion, and support while advocating for the elimination of stigma and discrimination against people living with HIV.

Through this activity, RHU Alegria continues to strengthen community participation in health promotion, encourage healthy lifestyle choices, and foster a community where everyone is treated with dignity, respect, and understanding.

📢 ANNOUNCEMENT

The results of the TSH, PSA, and Pap Smear tests conducted last April 28, 2026 are now available for claiming at the Rural Health Unit (RHU) of Alegria.

Please visit RHU Alegria at our Temporary Location at CNU -Alegria Building from 8am-5pm, Monday-Friday (except on Holidays) and look for Mam Venny. Please bring a valid ID for verification purposes.

📢 PUBLIC ADVISORY

Please be informed that Medical Consultation and Dental Services at RHU ALEGRIA will be temporarily unavailable starting the afternoon of May 21, 2026, due to the ongoing renovation of the RHU building.

To ensure the safety of our clients and personnel, these services will remain suspended until further notice while preparations are being made for the temporary transfer of operations to an alternate location. Updates regarding the temporary service site will be announced as soon as they become available.

✅ Alegria Birthing Center operations will continue as normal as of the moment.

✅ Barangay Health Services in all barangays will also remain available and uninterrupted.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your patience and understanding as we improve our facilities to better serve the community.

*Ang Pap Smear o Pap Test usa ka klase sa Screening Procedure alang sa mga kababaehan kung diin inspeksyonon ang kondisyon sa kwelyo sa matres kung aduna ba kini mga precancerous o cancerous cells nga mamahimong hinungdan sa Cervical Cancer.
*Aduna pud kita Breast Examination (Guided Breast Self-Exam with a Healthcare worker) aron ma suta kung aduna bay mga bogon, paghubag og pag usab sa color og gidak-on sa ni**le og totoy.

𝙒𝙝𝙤 𝙘𝙖𝙣 𝙖𝙫𝙖𝙞𝙡:
-Women, 18 years old and above
-Sexually Active
-No Menstruation or Active Bleeding on the day of procedure
-Previous Pap Smear Exam was 3 years ago with Negative result
-Advised for repeat Pap Smear or yearly exam

Bisitaha ang RHU Alegria og adto kamo sa Family Planning Room sa likod nga bahin sa maong building. Ang atong mga Trained Rural Health Midwives ang mobuhat sa maong screening.
Ang sakit nga Cervical Cancer maoy ika-2 sa pinakacommon nga cancer sa mga kababaehan, sunod sa Breast Cancer nga maoy numero uno sa mga cancer-related deaths sa mga babaye og lagmit wala kini mga sintomas sa early stage niini.

⚠️REMINDERS BEFORE THE PROCEDURE:⚠️
-Avoid vaginal / sexual in*******se for at least 24-48 hours before the test.
-Do not do**he or use tampons, vaginal medicines, creams, foams, jellies, or vaginal sprays for at least 48 hours.
-Women who are currently having their menstrual period or has active menstrual bleeding/spotting on the day of the procedure are advised NOT to undergo a Pap smear.
-Urinate prior to the procedure to promote comfort during examination.
-Wash or cleanse the external ge***al area before the test to maintain cleanliness and improve specimen quality.
