As part of its efforts to streamline regulatory processes in the country, the DICT takes the lead in the computerizing the business permits and licensing system by coming up with the cloud-based eBPLS software.
The eBPLS was introduced by the Department of Information and Communications Technology to the LGUs and key stakeholders during the Summit 2017, which held at Novotel Manila Araneta Center last 18 July 2017.
eBPLS enables LGUs to process application for new and renewal of business permits electronically.
This ensures compliance to the revised service standards of the Joint Memorandum Circular No. 01, Series 2016, signed together with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG).

Did you know that LGU Alangalang's Business Permit and Licensing Office is already utilizing this electronic system?
The 4th of January, 2020 when the BPLO Alangalang started using this online system and it is now fully operational. Infact, the LGU is working on integrating an online ePayment system and installing the Philippine National Public Key Infrastructure(PNPKI).
