LOOK: Metro Pacific Investments Foundation (MPIF) President, Ma'am Melody M. Del Rosario personally handed over the P 100,000 check to City Mayor Arth Bryan C. Celeste as the city government’s incentive for being recognized as the 2026 Most Outstanding Shore It Up (SIU) Weekend Partner Site.
Shore It Up is MPIF’s very noble and flagship annual coastal and marine conservation initiative. This year's SIU Weekend which is the biggest thus far, is anchored on the theme “One Hour for the Planet, One Weekend for our Shores.
Alaminos City bested seven other partner sites across the country for its engaging Earth Hour program that encouraged environmental awareness and impactful coastal, island and underwater clean-ups, and tree planting activity at Bued Mangrove Forest Park, where one of MPIF’s legacy projects, the Mangrove Propagation and Information Center was established and serves as wonderful facility that protects, propagates and rehabilitates different species of mangroves.
Also stood out during the SIU Weekend was the city’s remarkable on-ground and online campaign efforts, having engaged various civil society organizations to take part in the worthy activities, the distribution of tumblers to participants to promote sustainable habits and the Alaminians’ warmth and utmost commitment in extending their share in sustaining the city’s environmental protection, conservation and rehabilitation initiatives.
Mayor Arth Bryan expressed his gratitude and appreciation to Ms. Del Rosario, the whole MPIF family and the MVP Group of Companies headed by Chairman, President and CEO Manuel V. Pangilinan for the meaningful recognition and for all the huge support and valuable assistance it has extended to the city government and to his citymates all these years.
MPIF President Del Rosario noted that the city deserves the recognition for levelling up its SUI Weekend activities as well as the experience of the participants even as she assured that MPIF remains to be it’s strong and reliable partner in its environmental conservation efforts and in creating positive change in our communities.
