Proper segregation is important because unsegregated and excessively heavy garbage bags make it difficult for our waste collectors to handle and load the waste safely and efficiently.

Please be advised that unsegregated waste will be left at the MRF and will not be collected until it has been properly segregated.

On behalf of the Municipality of Ajuy, we are honored and delighted to welcome the delegation from the Municipality of Tigbauan, led by Atty. Gerelyn Camosagrado of the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO), together with her staff, the Market Supervisor, and the Officer-in-Charge of the Municipal Agriculture Office (OIC-MAO).

The purpose of their learning visit is to learn from Ajuy’s experiences and best practices in mangrove conservation and solid waste management. As part of their visit, the delegation also toured the Ajuy Business Park, where they were warmly welcomed by Ms. Leah A. Demayo and the Market Association President. They also visited Barangay Tagubanhan to gain insights into the community’s environmental initiatives and sustainable waste management practices.

We hope this visit will strengthen cooperation, encourage the exchange of knowledge, and inspire both municipalities to pursue more effective and sustainable environmental management practices.

Unfortunately, groundwater use is difficult to monitor globally. Even in the U.S., wells that are drilled on private property can be exempt from official monitoring. This is a somewhat illogical concept, as aquifers themselves (the underground basins that hold groundwater reserves) often exceed the boundaries of private property, and the water in them flows freely between the land of several property owners. As water is a shared resource, it should be managed with common benefits and conservation in mind.
