In continued celebration of service and integrity, the Municipal Government of Agoo recognized agencies embodying the spirit of public service during their traditional flag-raising ceremony, held earlier today, September 7, 2026, at the Agoo Farmers' Multi-Purpose Building.

Highlighting the ceremony was the presentation of Plaque of Recognition and Medalya ng Kasanayan to Agoo Fire Station, under FSINSP Ciara Ley Capule, Municipal Fire Marshal, for being awarded as Best in Fire Suppression of the Year. This award was received by FSINSP Capule during the 35th Bureau of Fire Protection Anniversary held at Puerto de San Juan, San Juan, La Union, last August 28, 2026.

Meanwhile, the LGU also presented Municipal Resolutions to Sangguniang Kabataan Councils of Brgy. San Manuel Sur and Sta. Rita Sur for being adjudged as finalists in the Search for the Best Sangguniang Kabataan Project under the La Union Youth Excellence and Service (YES) Award 2026.

The SK Council of Brgy. San Manuel Sur, led by SK Chairman Arnel Viduya, was recognized for their entry "Mandatory Drug Testing Program for Youth Athletes," while the SK Council of Brgy. Dta. Rita Sur, led by SK Chairman Wilbert Villanueva recognized for their "Isang Hakbang: Eco-Bricks Step," promoting environmental awareness, proper waste management, and sustainable practices among the youth and the community.

The Municipal Government of Agoo, under the leadership of Mayor Frank O. Sibuma, remains committed to acknowledging those whose actions reflect genuine public service and inspire others to do the same. ๐Ÿ’šโœจ

Despite the issuance of Memorandum Circular No. 134 and announcement of the Provincial Government of La Union, directing the implementation of Alternative Learning Mode, Face-to-Face Classes from elementary to high school, both in public and private school, in the Municipality of Agoo will resume today, September 4, 2026, unless otherwise directed by school heads.

Suspension of classes in the College Level is left at the discretion of their respective school heads.

As part of its continuing efforts to promote a culture of human rights, gender equality, and inclusive governance, the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Agoo, through the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO), conducted the Capacity Building for LGU-Agoo Human Rights Action Center Team (HRACT) and Gender and Development Focal Point System (GFPS) Members on August 25โ€“26, 2026, held at Mayor's Conference Room, Agoo Municipal Building.

Serving as the first step toward establishing and strengthening these mechanisms, this two-day capacity-building activity provided participants with a common understanding of human rights and gender-responsive governance while laying the groundwork for a more organized and coordinated local response to human rights and gender-related concerns.

The activity featured discussions on Gender and Development (GAD) Concepts, Levels of Empowerment and Intersectionality, S*x and Gender, S*xual Orientation, Gender Identity and Expression, and S*x Characteristics (SOGIESC), Republic Act No. 11313 or the Safe Spaces Act, Human Rights 101, and the Human Rights Action Center. Participants also took part in activities focused on identifying gender issues, assessing existing LGU programs, and planning for the HRACT team, facilitated by Atty. Anna Leah T. Romero and Atty. Melhanie C. William of Commission of Human Rights (CHR) Region 1.

From this capacity-building activity, the LGU, under the leadership of Mayor Frank O. Sibuma, will move forward in establishing and strengthening the HRACT and GFPS, translating the knowledge gained into concrete actions and responsive programs and services that protect the rights, dignity, and welfare of all Kailian.๐Ÿ’š

Suspendido ang Face-to-Face Classes mula Kindergarten hanggang High School sa mga pampubliko at pribadong paaralan ngayong araw, September 3, 2026, sa Bayan ng Agoo dahil sa tuloy-tuloy na pag-ulan.

Hinihikayat na magpatupad na lamang ng Modular Distance Learning ang mga paaralan upang hindi matigil ang pagkatuto ng mga mag-aaral.

Ang pagsuspende naman ng klase sa College Level ay nakasalalay sa pasya ng kanilang school head.

Sa bisa ng Memorandum Circular No. 133, suspendido ang onsite work sa LGU Agoo at iba pang tanggapan at opisina ng gobyerno sa Agoo bukas, September 1, 2026, Martes, bilang pag-iingat sa banta ng malakas na pag-ulan dulot ng Hanging Habagat.

Suspendido rin ang Face-to-Face Classes sa lahat ng antas sa mga pampubliko at pribadong paaralan. Hinihikayat ang mga paaralan na magpatupad na lamang ng Alternative Learning Mode.

Samantala, mananatiling bukas ang tanggapan ng mga frontline agencies, kabilang ang DSWD, MSWDO, MDRRMO, MHO, MCRO, MEO, APSOO, at Treasurer's Office upang makapagbigay ng agarang serbisyo sa mga nangangailangan.
