In promoting a community that supports and advocates for children in need of family care this Adoption and Alternative Child Care Week, the Regional Adoption and Alternative Child Care Office (RACCO)-Region I, together with the Department of Social Welfare and Development-Field Office 1 (DSWD FO1) and the Local Government Unit of Agoo staged the Bisig-Bisikleta Fun Run 2026 today, June 13, 2026, at Agoo Eco Park.
This early morning ride and run activity brought together partner agencies, representatives from the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) of different municipalities in the region, families, and community members in a meaningful gathering advancing the theme "Love makes a family," while promoting health, wellness, and social responsibility. It was further graced by the presence of Mayor Frank O. Sibuma, Vice Mayor Antonio Eslao, and DSWD Field Office I Regional Director Marie Angela S. Gopalan, whose participation and the messages they shared demonstrated their strong support for child welfare and family-centered initiatives.
All guests and participants were also enjoined in the signing of the Commitment Wall, symbolizing their collective pledge to support adoption and alternative child care initiatives of the National Authority for Child Care. Medals and certificates were awarded to the top finishers and all the participants in recognition of their involvement and contribution to the success of the activity.
The event was further enriched through the generosity of its sponsorsโUnilab, Prohealth Sales Distribution Corp., Ms. Michelle Chan-Roncal, and Boss Nanongโwho provided gifts and tokens for the participants.
The success of this activity was made possible through the efforts of RACCO I, led by Ms. Hiyasmin Joy O. Nieva-Rabelas, OIC-RACC Officer of RACCO I, MSWDO Agoo, headed by Ms. Rhoda Panes, Philippine National Police-Agoo, MDRRMO, MHO, Municipal Tourism Office, and APSOO.
The celebration concluded with a renewed commitment to support adoption and alternative child care and to champion every child's right to family care in Agoo and in the whole Region 1. ๐
