Cooperative Development Office - LGU Agno, Pangasinan

The Local Government Unit of Agno, Pangasinan, in coordination with the Cooperative Development Authority Region I Extension Office and the Provincial Population, Cooperative and Livelihood Development Office – Pangasinan, successfully conducted a Two-Day Mandatory Training for Cooperatives to strengthen the capacity and enhance the governance and management competencies of local cooperatives in the municipality.

The activity commenced with the Welcome Remarks of hon. Larry P. Sagun, Municipal Councilor and Chairman on Committee on Cooperatives, followed by messages from Hon. Jonathan G. Doromal, Municipal Vice Mayor and Hon. John N. Celeste, Municipal Mayor.

The training proper featured lectures and discussions facilitated by Ms. Sheryl Lou M. Fabia, Provincial CDS Western Pangasinan/CDS II, CDA Region I and Mr. Walter M. Mendoza, CDS II, CDA Region I, together with Ms. Joani Marie B. Bantolino, Population Program Officer II/CELD Coordinator, PPCLDO Pangasinan.

The session focused on the Fundamentals of Cooperatives and Cooperative Governance and Management.

The training concluded with the awarding of certificates to the participants and closing program from Ms. Jacqueline T. Bona, Cooperative Development Specialist I.

The Cooperative Development Section extends its sincere appreciation to all partner agencies and resource speakers for their continued support in strengthening the cooperative sector in the municipality.

First Quarter Meeting of the Agno Municipal Cooperative Development Council (MCDC) | February 29, 2026

The Agno Municipal Cooperative Development Council (MCDC) successfully conducted its First Quarter Meeting. The meeting was attended by the MCDC officers and members, together with Mr. Edilberto Uson, Assistant Regional Director of the CDA Region I Extension Office, and Ms. Sheryl Lou Fabia, Provincial Cooperative Development Specialist West Pangasinan / CDS II of the CDA Region I Extension Office.

During the meeting, participants discussed the latest CDA issuances and updates, as well as various programs, activities, and other matters aimed at strengthening and advancing the cooperative movement in the Municipality of Agno.

Through this collaborative effort, the council continues to work together in promoting stronger, more sustainable cooperatives for the benefit of our municipality.

The Local Government Unit of Agno, Pangasinan, through the Cooperative Development Section, in coordination with the Cooperative Development Authority Region I Extension Office, conducted a Pre-Registration Seminar (PRS) for the proposed Fisherfolk Cooperative in Agno, Pangasinan. The seminar aimed to provide the fisherfolk with essential knowledge on cooperative principles, requirements, and the registration process to guide them in organizing a strong cooperative.

Twenty-four (24) fisherfolk attended the activity and expressed their intention to organize a cooperative.

Hon. John N. Celeste, Municipal Mayor, delivered a message of support for the initiative. The seminar was facilitated by Ms. Sheryl Lou M. Fabia, Provincial Cooperative Development Specialist II, CDA Region I Extension Office, and Mr. Walter M. Mendoza, Cooperative Development Specialist II, CDA Region I Extension Office.
