IN PHOTOS: DOLE XI officially opened the DOLE Trabaho Agad Job Fair early today, June 12, 2026, at The Annex Event Center, SM City Davao.

Aside from the opening of the job fair, DOLE XI awarded various grants under its programs, including the Government Internship Program (GIP), Adjustment Measure Program (AMP), and the DOLE Integrated Livelihood Program (DILP). The awarding was led by DOLE XI Regional Director Atty. Randolf C. Pensoy, Assistant Regional Director Atty. Kim S. Lagcao, and other DOLE XI officials.

The program also featured the signing of the bid books of the Search for Best Public Employment Service Office (SBP) Regional Winners, who will represent Region XI at the national level in the fourth quarter of the year.

DOLE XI extends its gratitude to the members of the SBP Committee on Awards: Rene V. Carbayas, Regional Director of the Philippine Information Agency; Mirasol Tiu, President of the Davao City Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc.; Aerrine Marie Reyes, Director II of the National Conciliation and Mediation Board; and Cherelle Espinosa, Vice President of PESOMAP Davao PESO and JPO, for their invaluable contribution to the evaluation process.

DAVAO CITY โ€“ The Department of Labor and Employment - Davao City Field Office (DOLE-DCFO) successfully rolled out its flagship emergency employment program, targeting hundreds of individuals who have lost their livelihoods in the southern part of the city. A total of 220 displaced workers gathered at the Toril Proper Gymnasium on May 28, 2026, for the official orientation and deployment of the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) program.

The beneficiaries, consisting of local residents whose livelihoods were disrupted by recent economic shifts, are granted a 15-day period to engage in essential community service. Their tasks will primarily focus on social community projects, which include neighborhood eco-cleaning and waste sorting, de-clogging of local drainage systems, and minor clearing of public community spaces.

Upon successful completion of their 15-day work program, each beneficiary will receive a total compensation of โ‚ฑ7,875.00, which is calculated at the prevailing region-specific minimum wage rate for the period. To ensure safety and convenience, DOLE-DCFO confirmed that the financial assistance will be disbursed directly to the workers through an authorized money remittance partner once the deployment period concludes.

Davao City โ€“ The 2026 JobStart Employersโ€™ Forum convened partner agencies and private sector establishments to strengthen collaboration on workforce development, and industry-aligned training systems. The activity was conducted by the Department of Labor and Employment XI (DOLE XI) โ€“ Davao City Field Office on May 28, 2026, at the DOLE XIโ€“DCFO Activity Hall.

A total of 25 representatives from private partner establishments in the retail, manufacturing, and hospitality sectors in Davao City participated in the forum, which served as a platform to orient employers on the implementing guidelines of the Enterprise-Based Education and Training (EBET) framework and provide a workshop on developing enterprise training plans. The activity featured key inputs from the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) and the Public Employment Service Office (PESO).

DAVAO CITY โ€“ Workers of the Philippine Japan Active Carbon Corporation Employees Cooperative gained valuable knowledge on labor rights, workplace standards, social protection, and safe work environments through a Labor and Employment Education Services (LEES) session conducted by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) XI โ€“ Davao City Field Office (DCFO).

The activity aimed to empower workers by enhancing their understanding of labor laws and government programs that safeguard their welfare, enabling them to become more informed, responsible, and productive members of the workforce.

Ms. Chelsi Mika T. Licarte, Labor and Employment Officer III, discussed the Rights and Obligations of Workers in the Philippines, General Labor Standards, and the Workers Organization Development Program (WODP). The session highlighted workers' fundamental rights, responsibilities, and the role of workers' organizations in promoting harmonious labor-management relations and workplace cooperation.

Participants also learned about the PhilHealth YAKAP Program and International Labour Organization (ILO) Convention No. 190 through a presentation by Mr. Keith Bryann M. Bolivar. The discussions emphasized the importance of accessible healthcare services, as well as the promotion of workplaces free from violence and harassment, contributing to safer and more inclusive work environments.

DAVAO CITY โ€“ A farmer in Davao City was able to receive his rightful retirement pay amounting to Php300,000.00 through the assistance of the Single-Entry Approach (SENA) Program of the Department of Labor and Employment XI โ€“ Davao City Field Office.

Mr. Mario (not his real name) spent his time in the farm planting and harvesting, consistently demonstrating hard work and commitment. So, when he decided to retire, it was not an easy decision. What made it even more difficult was discovering that the retirement computation given to him by the farm management was far lower that what he expected.

With growing concern, his family stepped in and accompanied him in seeking help, guiding him to the DOLE XI office. There, he filed a Request for Assistance under the Single-Entry Approach (SENA) Program. SENA is a 30-day administrative conciliation-mediation mechanism of DOLE that aims to provide a fast, accessible, and inexpensive settlement of labor issues without the need for formal litigation. Through SENA, parties are encouraged to resolve disputes through dialogue and
amicable settlement.
