ONE BREASTFEEDING PHILIPPINES: YAKAP HAKAB 💛

The Municipal Nutrition Action Office, together with the Municipal Health Office, successfully conducted the Breastfeeding Forum entitled “Supporting Continued Exclusive Breastfeeding in the Workplace and Preparing Mothers for Successful Breastfeeding,” as part of the 2026 Breastfeeding Awareness Month celebration, anchored on the theme “Breastfeeding for a Sustainable Start in Life: Strengthen What Works.”

The forum brought together pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, health workers, employers, and workplace representatives to promote stronger support for breastfeeding from pregnancy to the mother’s return to work.

As part of the activity, participants took a Pledge of Commitment to Support Exclusive Breastfeeding in the household, workplace, and community, followed by a meaningful One-Minute Simultaneous Hakap participated in by lactating mothers. 🤱💛

🌷 Special thanks to our resource speakers, Ma’am Judith Olmedo, Mr. Mar Loven T. Ronato, Dr. Deo Singzon, and Ma’am Christie Danao, for sharing their knowledge and expertise.

We also extend our gratitude to Hon. Maricor Mendador, who graced the occasion and represented our Municipal Mayor, Hon. Dianne E. Rosales, and expressed her support for this important advocacy.

Together, let us strengthen what works for healthier mothers, healthier children, and a healthier Philippines.

The Municipal Nutrition Action Office conducted a 4-day “Idol Ko si Nanay” Roll-out Training for our Barangay Nutrition Scholars (BNS), equipping them with the knowledge and skills to bring the program closer to mothers and families in their communities.

On August 5, 2026, the Municipal Nutrition Action Office proudly joins the Philippine Pediatric Society – Eastern Visayas Chapter in the Hakab ‘Ta 2026: Multicenter Simultaneous Breastfeeding Activity, in celebration of World Breastfeeding Month 2026.

Carrying the inspiring message, “One Latch, One Love, One Nation,” this meaningful activity brings together communities and advocates in recognizing the vital role of breastfeeding in giving every child a healthy and nurturing start in life.

Through collective efforts, we continue to promote, protect, and support breastfeeding, while empowering mothers and families with a supportive environment where every breastfeeding journey is valued and encouraged.

May this celebration remind us that every latch represents love, every mother deserves support, and every child deserves the best possible beginning. 💜🤱🏻

August is Breastfeeding Awareness Month!

This August, we join the nation in celebrating Breastfeeding Awareness Month 2026 with a theme:

"One Breastfeeding Philippines: Yakap Hakab – Breastfeeding for a Sustainable Start in Life: Strengthen What Works."

Ang pagpapasuso ay higit pa sa pagbibigay ng gatas—ito ay pundasyon ng mas malusog na sanggol, mas matatag na pamilya, at mas maunlad na komunidad.

Ngayong Breastfeeding Awareness Month 2026, sama-sama nating pangalagaan, isulong, at suportahan ang pagpapasuso sa ating tahanan, lugar ng trabaho, pasilidad pangkalusugan, at komunidad.

LOOK | On July 24, 2026, the Local Government Unit of Catarman, through the Municipal Nutrition Action Office, officially kicked off the Nutrition Summit 2026, the Culminating Activity of the 52nd Nutrition Month Celebration, with the theme: “Nutrisyon at Kalikasan, Ating Pangalagaan!”

The summit was graced by our distinguished guest speaker, Dr. Myrna Nicol Ogoc, Professor VI, who shared valuable insights on the vital connection between nutrition, health, and environmental sustainability. Her inspiring message encouraged participants to work together in promoting proper nutrition while protecting our environment for future generations.

The activity brought together local officials, stakeholders, health and nutrition workers, and community partners in a shared commitment to building a healthier, more resilient, and nutrition-secure Catarman.

Together, let us continue to champion nutrition and environmental stewardship for a brighter and healthier future for all.

The Nutri-Quiz is exclusive to Catarmananons (residents of the Municipality of Catarman). Winners were selected through a randomized draw from among the participants who submitted the correct answers.
