Earthquake Safety at Home

Prepare your home and family members for an earthquake. Familiarize your family with the community earthquake evacuation plan. Conduct and participate in regular earthquake drills. When a strong shaking starts, STAY CALM. When you are INSIDE a structurally sound building stay there and do the “Duck, Cover, and Hold.” If you are OUTSIDE move to an open area. Once the shaking stops, take the fastest and safest way out of the building. Be prepared for aftershocks.

TYPHOON “KIKO” MAINTAINS ITS STRENGTH AS IT MOVE WEST NORTHWESTWARD OVER THE PHILIPPINE SEA EAST OF NORTHERN AURORA TOWARDS EXTREME NORTHERN LUZON.

Location of Center (10:00 PM)
The center of the eye of Typhoon “KIKO” was located based on all available data including those from Daet Doppler Weather Radar at 435 km East of Baler, Aurora or 370 km East of Casiguran, Aurora (16.2°N, 125.6°E). Maximum sustained winds of 195 km/h near the center, gustiness of up to 240 km/h, and central pressure of 930 hPa. Moving West Northwestward at 20 km/h. Strong winds or higher extend outwards up to 200 km from the center.

Batanes, the rest of mainland Cagayan, the rest of Babuyan Islands, the northeastern portion of Apayao (Luna, Pudtol, Flora, Santa Marcela), and the eastern portion of Isabela (Divilacan, Palanan, Maconacon, San Pablo, Santa Maria, Tumauini, Cabagan, San Mariano, Ilagan City, Dinapigue)

Typhoon “KIKO” is forecast to move generally northwestward in the next 24 hours towards the Babuyan Islands-Batanes area. On the forecast track, the typhoon is forecast to pass very close to northeastern Cagayan tomorrow afternoon or evening. Afterwards, the typhoon may cross the vicinity of Babuyan Islands and Batanes or pass within their coastal waters from tomorrow evening until Saturday afternoon. The typhoon will be moving generally north northwestward during this period.

GOV. MAMBA SA MGA MHO: "MAGKAROON NG ARAW-ARAW NA UPDATES NG COVID-19 POSITIVE CASES AT IPARATING SA MGA MAYOR AT BRGY. CAPTAIN"

Sa pamamagitan ng Provincial Health Office (PHO) ay nais ni Governor Manuel N. Mamba na magkaroon ng araw-araw na updates ng COVID-19 positive cases ang lahat ng Municipal Health Officers (MHOs) at iparating sa mga mayor at barangay captain sa kanilang Area of Responsibility (AOR).

Aniya, layon nito na maging alerto ang bawat Local Government Units (LGUs) at mga Kapitan sa ganitong paraan. Nararapat rin umano na gumawa na ng hakbang sa quarantine status ng kanilang nasasakupan higit na kung may mataas na kaso ng COVID-19.

“Ang Tuguegarao City na may pinakamataas na kaso maging ang Solana na kalat ang mga kaso at iba pang bayan na may mataas na bilang ng mga positive cases ay dapat nang pag-aralang mabuti ang kanilang quarantine status,” sambit ni Gov. Mamba sa katatapos na Management Committee Meeting ng Kapitolyo ngayong araw, ika-7 ng Abril.

Sinabi naman ni Provincial Health Officer Dr. Carlos Cortina III ng Pamahalaang Panlalawigan ng Cagayan na nakapagbigay na siya ng direktiba sa lahat ng mga MHO sa Cagayan para sa araw-araw na updates ng mga kaso ng COVID-19.

Ito ay sa kabila na ang datos ng mga cases ay nagmumula mismo sa mga Municipal Health Offices na ipinaparating rin sa PHO.

Giit pa ni Dr. Cortina na papaalalahanan niya ang mga MHO na iparating sa mga Mayor at mga Kapitan ng barangay ang bawat bilang ng mga nagpopositibo sa virus.

Sa naging ulat ni Dr. Cortina sa MANCOM, ay tumataas ang porsiyento ng mga bayan at barangay sa Cagayan na may mga kaso ng COVID-19. Nasa 25 na bayan na ang may naitalang aktibong kaso ng sakit.

May 268 na mga barangay naman ang apektado sa Covid-19 o 34.76% ng kabuuang dami ng barangay sa lalawigan. Habang ang Lungsod ng Tuguegarao na may 49 barangay ay 3 lamang ang walang aktibong kaso ng Covid-19 o 93.87% ng kabuuang dami ng barangay sa lungsod ay apektado.

Bukod dito, ay tumataas rin ang bilang ng mga Covid-19 cases sa mga workplaces kung saan umaabot na ito sa 594 na mula sa iba’t ibang ahensya.

Matatandaan na panay ang paalala ni Gov. Mamba na sumunod at gawin ang minimum health protocols lalo na sa mga nagtratrabaho sa mga opisina, sa pribado man o gobyerno upang maiwasan na tamaan ng virus at para hindi rin maiuwi sa pamilya ang COVID-19.
