Amazon Refuge Wildlife Conservation Research Our new conservation operations are on the Marañón River, headwaters of the Amazon River. lat/lon 4°36'0.04"S 77°51'57.04"W

In collaboration with Awajún Native communities of Amazonas our new area of research is in the Condorcanqui Province, ~18,000 sq km (~7,000 sq mi). With 2022 approaching and after years of research from our Amazon River location we are moving our operations to the Marañón River, headwaters of the Amazon River. This allows us to establish a chain of tented-outposts in the remote primary rainforest

of the Department of Amazonas Peru: ~40,000 sq km (~15,000 sq mi). Our base of operations is the town of Santa María de Nieva: The capital of the province of Condorcanqui located on the banks of the Marañón River and the Nieva River with a tropical, warm and rainy climate.
