Amazon Planet was created in 2010 by a group of professionals with a mission to preserve the biodiversity of the Peruvian Amazon and help sustain the environment. It is with this initiative we developed Amazon Planet on a private area of 45 hectares of primary and
secondary forest located on the right bank of the Madre de Dios River, within the buffer zone of the National Reserve Tambopata-Candamo, one of the most important Natural Protected Areas by the government and with the highest biodiversity in the world. From the beginning, Amazon Planet has been committed to engaging and working with people and organizations that also support the care of our forests. Currently, the indiscriminate use of the rainforest is threatening more and more areas of this fragile ecosystem and a healthy future depends on innovative approaches to conservation and tourism in the region. That's why we created the Amazon Planet Lodge, dedicated to responsible tourism, conservation of the Amazon ecosystem, environmental education and development of local communities through activities that promote the adequate use of natural resources for a sustainable future for the people and wildlife of the region.
