Meet our newest rescue, a resilient little male achuni. Sadly, he was ripped away from his home for the illegal wildlife trade and found all alone in an abandoned house.

Thankfully, he is safe with us now, full of curiosity, and ready for a fresh start!

To help cover his vital rehabilitation and care, we are looking for a Sponsor—a Godfather or Godmother—to officially name him. 🏆
The rules are simple: The highest donation wins the official naming rights! Every dollar goes directly toward his food, habitat, and medical care. Once the fundraiser closes, we will announce the winning name right here on our page.

Want to become his official godparent and give him the perfect name? https://pilpintuwasi.com/donations

To protect biodiversity, we must learn to respect it 🌿

Not buying them.
Not keeping them as pets.
Not harming them.
Wild animals belong in the wild.

Help us protect and care for rescued wildlife ✨
Together, we can make a difference.

💚🐾 NEW MEMBER AT PILPINTUWASI 🐾💚
On May 8th, we received this young Dasyprocta sp. (Añuje) at our rescue center in Padre Cocha, Iquitos 🌿

After being rescued and receiving initial care, our team safely transferred him to Pilpintuwasi, where a special enclosure was prepared for his recovery.

We are currently providing daily food, care, and monitoring, hoping she can fully recover and one day return to the wild where she belongs 🍃

We thank .peruoficial, , , , and everyone involved in making this rescue and transfer possible 🤝💚

Every rescue requires food, medicine, and constant care. Any support is always welcome 🙏. We also receive volunteers all year long 🦋🙌🏽

A second chance for Amazonian wildlife 🌿🐢✨

On April 7th, the team from Pilpintuwasi participated in the release of 6 motelo tortoises in the Tamshiyacu Tahuayo Regional Conservation Area, after being rescued from illegal wildlife trafficking.

Together with our partners of and .expeditions , we traveled deep into the Amazon to return these animals to their true home. 🌳🍃
Watching them slowly walk back into the wild reminds us why this mission matters. Every rescue brings hope for a new beginning🙌❤️.

Help us continue protecting Amazonian wildlife. Your support and donations make rescues, rehabilitation, and releases like this possible. 💚

Here we see Hamadryas amphinome and Mechanitis sp., two beautiful species that help with pollination and contribute to the balance of the rainforest.

Protecting their habitat is essential for the survival of many species that depend on healthy forests.

Two fascinating butterflies of the Amazon: Papilio thoas and Caligo sp. 🦋

The Caligo, commonly known as the owl butterfly, gets its name from the large eye-like spots on the underside of its wings. These markings resemble the eyes of an owl and help scare away potential predators — a clever survival strategy in the rainforest. 👁️🦉

Papilio thoas, a large swallowtail butterfly, is known for its strong flight and striking wing patterns that make it one of the most impressive butterflies of the region.

💚 Protecting forests means protecting the incredible diversity of species like these. You can support Pilpintuwasi by donating, volunteering, or sharing our mission.
