The Bank Indonesia New York Representative Office had the opportunity to meet with the Chargé d’Affaires of the Indonesian Embassy in Washington DC, Mr. Ida Bagus Made Bimantara, to discuss synergies and opportunities for enhancing economic cooperation between Indonesia and the United States.

The meeting was also attended by the Head of BNI New York, Mr. Erwanza Nirwan, and his team, reinforcing the spirit of collaboration among Indonesian institutions in the U.S. to support economic diplomacy and strengthen Indonesia’s global presence.

Gathering for a Heartwarming Iftar 🕌 ✨

On March 22nd, 2025, the Indonesian Bankers Club (IBC), consisting of BI New York, BNI New York ,and BRI New York , gathered at Masjid Al-Hikmah New York for a heartfelt iftar.

We are grateful for the opportunity to serve iftar dinner and share the spirit of Ramadan with the broader Muslim community in New York, including our fellow Indonesians and neighbors around us.

It was a special evening filled with warmth, reflection, and a deep sense of togetherness, reminding us of the beauty of giving and connecting, even far from home 🇮🇩

Bank Indonesia Annual Meeting 2024 🇮🇩🇺🇸

Bank Indonesia Representative Office New York, in collaboration with the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia in New York, hosted a livestreaming event to join the Bank Indonesia Annual Meeting (PTBI) 2024, held at BI Head Office in Jakarta with the theme: "Synergy to Strengthen Stability and National Economic Transformation." The event also welcomed and was attended by Bank Indonesia’s key stakeholders in New York and the America region.

In his opening remarks during the livestream event, Wahyu Agung Nugroho, Chief of Bank Indonesia Representative Office in New York, emphasized the importance of synergy, optimism, and structural reforms as keys to strengthening Indonesia’s resilience and achieving the vision of "Golden Indonesia."

This significant event of PTBI 2024 was also graced by a keynote address from the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, calling for unity across all sectors and expertise to achieve our shared aspirations.

Bank Indonesia Governor, Perry Warjiyo, expressed optimism for Indonesia’s economic future while emphasizing the importance of staying vigilant against five global challenges:

Honored to host Senior Deputy Governor of Bank Indonesia, Mrs. Destry Damayanti, at the Bank Indonesia Representative Office in New York 🗽🇺🇲

The visit, accompanied by the Department of Banking Services, Licensing, and Treasury Operations, the Department of Financial Market Development, and the Department of Monetary Management and Securities Assets, focused on evaluating custody arrangements in New York.

The agenda also included a meeting with FICC in New Jersey to benchmark and explore the US central counterparty (CCP) system, a High-Level Meeting with HIMBARA New York representatives, and a heartfelt gathering with Bank Indonesia staff currently pursuing further studies in New York and Connecticut.

"Strengthening Bonds, Elevating Futures!" ✨️🇮🇩 🇺🇲

Deputy Governor of Bank Indonesia (BI), Mrs. Filianingsih Hendarta, alongside Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, Mrs. Retno Marsudi, and Charge d'Affaires Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia, Mr. Ida Bagus Made Bimantara joined forces to share a bold vision for elevating Indonesia-U.S. relations to new heights at the High Level Business Forum in Washington D.C. As part of WOW Indonesia Festival events 2024, this forum initiated by Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Washington, D.C. in collaboration with BI, US Asean-Business Council along with Indonesia Investment Promotion Center (IIPC) and featuring notable attendees including key figures from the US business and government sectors.

During the event, Bank Indonesia showcased three strategic investment projects: a Geothermal Power Plant in Central Java, a Copper Processing Industry in East Java, and an Industrial Estate in Aceh. These projects were carefully curated by BI and IIPC New York to align with US investor interests. The forum aimed to boost the promotion of these investment opportunities and demonstrate BI's commitment, alongside relevant ministries and institutions, to attracting foreign capital into Indonesia's real sector. The event concluded with one-on-one meetings between investors and project representatives, including engagements with companies like Tynergy and GT Callisto.
