Hanging bridges of ancient Peru were built with high altitude-straw, over deep valleys and violent river gorges.
Community labor replaced them every year. Nowadays only one, 29 m example may be seen at Q'eswachaka, 3.5 hours southwest of Cusco, over the Apurímac River

The main plaza is shown as a single space as the smaller cusipata plaza would be built in the next century.
